What If: The Nightmare Vestiges bring Shun and His Party to their Lair.

Shun POV:

Having defeated a powerful enemy, we all start to relax a little.
Then a chill runs down my spine.
I turn around.
Something else returns my gaze.
Eight glittering eyes, looking down at us from on top of a rock.
A monster known as a Nightmare's Vestige.
There it stands, on top of the boulder.
Its bloodred eyes are fixed on me coldly.
It isn't particularly large.
But it has a greater presence than any monster we've faced so far.
I can't move.
Neither can anyone else.
It's like we're frozen in place, unable to even tremble.
The white spider monster seems to have its claws around our hearts.

"Hero?"
Suddenly, I hear a voice.
But not in the form of sound.
Telepathy.
It wasn't directed at me.
I just happen to be overhearing it on its way to someone else.

"Hero."
Then, suddenly, that someone else is here.
Not just here. It's everywhere.

"Ruler?"

"But they're weak?"

The telepathic voice echoes all around.
Then they appear, on the floor, on the wall, on the ceiling, everywhere.
Red eyes, tons of them.
Then white, filling up my vision.
The bizarre spectacle forces my thoughts to grind to a halt.
No, I have to think.
They're using language for a specific purpose-they must be.
And one particular word stands out.

"You know about reincarnations?!"
I steady my resolve and speak.
Basgath's eyes widen, but I had to ask, no matter what.
"We do." "We do."
"Of course we do."
The answer is immediate.
We're communicating with each other.
These things aren't monsters that lack intelligence.
"Why do you know that?"

"Master." "Master."
"Mother." "Mother."

"Is this 'Master' a reincarnation?"

"You'll know soon enough."

"You'll know."

"What do you mean?"

"Proclamation."
"Pronouncement."
"The beginning of the end."
"The world begins."
"The world ends."
The white shadows gradually slowly taking a steps forward.

We prepared ourselves for the outcoming battle but we didn't even have a chance to get ready until my vision suddenly just turned to black. Before I know it I lost consciousness during the encounter.

I woke up in a strange place that looks like a prison cave but instead of iron bars it has webs. I tried to stand up but I can't move my body and when I take a look on what happened I saw that my body are covered and tied with thin but very strong webs that I can't break even using my full strength. And then when I look behind the prisonbar-like webs I saw something that makes my body shuddered uncontrollably in fear.

In a gap of the webs I saw a swarm of white spiders, going in and out with corpse of other monsters in the tunnel on the other side of the web. They varies in sizes and probably that their strength are measured based on their size.

When I was trying to crawl to escape I noticed sensei is who's also awake across the room, She's also tied with thin webs and like me she also staring at the spectacle view currently happening in the front of us. But where's Katia? Fei? and the others?

"Sensei"
I called out and sensei flinch which makes her return to reality.

"Oh Shun-kun, your already awake?"

"I'm alright sensei, but do you have any idea where is this place? and also where's Katia and others.?"

"I saw Katia and Fei earlier on the other room when I woke up earlier but I don't know where Basgath and Hynrince whereabouts."

"Sorry sensei"
I apologized because I know this is my fault. I should not respond to the Vestiges when they try approach us.

"Why Shun-kun?"

"I caused you all a trouble even after Basgath-san warning I still stubbornly confronted the Nightmare Vestiges" It's all my fault, how could I bring my friends in danger.

"Shush, don't worry about it, I'm sure we can escape this together"

Sensei tried to calm me down but It can't help me because I feel really guiltly, just because of my selfishness to get answers from the Vestiges I got myself and Others to trouble.

Suddenly two of the Vestiges walk near the cell and start discussing something in telepathy which proves their intelligence and we heard their talk very clearly.

"What to do?"

"Don't know, call mother?"

Mother? Who's that? Is it their master? I ask myself confused at the exchange of the two Vestiges.

"I don't know maybe Mother's busy?"

"I don't know maybe I try?"

"Go while I gather others"

"Sensei" I called out sensei in a low voice and I'm starting to shaking at fear and worried because it looks like our situation had just gotten worse.

"Yes, Shun-kun looks like the master of these vestiges is returning to this place"

"Sensei what should we do?"

"I don't know Shun-kun but may-"
Sensei was about to say something but she suddenly get cut off because of the shrieked generated somewhere.

"Ieeeekkkkk! What's with this? Why are there many spiders in here?!!" I recognize those voice. Its Fei, oh no this is bad they will know that were already awake but the Nightmare Vestiges only looked at us for a second and then look away like there's nothing happened.

But after a minute has passed the Nightmare Vestiges suddenly starting to act strange.

"Mother's coming"
"Master?"
"Mother"

I looked around and saw the spiders making a strange formation and started to circle up on the other side of the cell. I and sensei watch this strange behaviour happening in our sight.

"Oh I'm back"

Suddenly there's I heard a voice of a girl echoes across the cave. I looked at the direction and trying to locate the person behind the voice. I saw something that looks like a small girl but I still can't see the figure clearly because of the swarm of spiders sorrounding it and also because of the darkness of the cave.

And then the figure starts to walk towards our direction until we saw clearly the face of the figure, and it's a gild not only that It's also the face that I didn't seen for a long time.

"Wakaba-san"
I called the name of the girl who appeared in front of us and then she stop and started to turn her head back and fort to the spider who I think the one who called her and to our direction.

"Impossible, Y-your alive?"
Sensei voice echoes across the cave.

But there's something clearly strange about Wakaba-san's appearance. She's all white, nothing else I could describe her only white and then I suddenly recalled Hynrince words about the White Girl who suddenly appeared in the battlefield and kills the Hero Party in Seconds using Rot attack.

My body shuddered in realization about what happened and I can't breathe.

"You...said..captured...usefull people..why...hero?"

Wakaba-san said something that I can't seem to catch about what's her saying.

"Wak-kaba-s-san d-did yo-" before I finished my sentence I suddenly passed out and my world turns black as I got swallowed by the darkness.
