NSFW in this chapter :)The house looked more gloomy than usual, especially today.
Now that the Heelshire boy was revealed to you, things were starting to make sense. Things were coming into view.
And, as much as you'd like to ignore, just as you used to, it was nearly impossible to forget. Forgetting him touching you last night - holding you - was a huge pill to swallow.
So you left.
It was the most logical, healthy thing to do. You didn't waste time after you woke, shoving your dirty clothes in your suitcase, leaving almost half of your things behind. It was the afternoon when your body had finally gotten enough sleep.
Now, in the early evening, you sat outside a local train station. It had a cafe inside, where you grabbed a pastry and small cup of coffee. Even though you hadn't eaten all day, it was hard to eat now under these circumstances.
His voice was haunting you.
You put your head in your hands, groaning. Sitting on the curb in your pajamas wasn't a great public display.
You checked the flights - you didn't care how much money you were wasting. Coming here was clearly a mistake. The soonest flight that you could afford was for tomorrow, around five pm. And you already called your mom. Sobbed, pleaded, reasoned with her.
It was a sad attempt.
"I'm sorry, but... Ron's been having a rough day at work. He wants to come home to quiet, empty house. Can't you understand? I can't always come to your rescue anymore, sweetie. I bet you were just dreaming, or maybe it was your new roommate! You're an adult, after all. I'm sure you'll figure it out. You always do."
You sat there, the beeping in your ear bringing you back into reality. she really said that. She really doesn't believe you.
Nobody did.
Am I really just crazy? Was any of this even real? I feel like I'm going insane.
the phone was ringing against your ear, patience wearing thin. Where were you supposed to go? And why didn't you think about any of this before you left the comfort of your own home?
"Hello?" Your brothers voice was groggy. You totally forgot about the time difference here and at home. "It's like, five o-"
"There was a man in my bedroom, and mom is going crazy and trying to gaslight me and I don't know where to go!" You blurted, and it felt like you just threw up all your feelings.
There's a beat, a pause, and will sighs.
"Again?"
You sniffled, and glanced to the side. An elderly couple gave you a weird look as they entered the restaurant.
"Again." You confirmed. Yet again, mom was choosing a man over you.
This wasn't uncommon. This behavior wasn't uncommon, but it wasn't normal either. And you and your sibling knew that.
"So, what about the man in your bedroom? Are you okay?"
"I-I'm fine, but that man had been watching me for days. He's been stealing my stuff! Remember the other day, I called you and I was missing my dress, and jewelry? That was him. And last night, he spoke to me, and touched me-"
"Did you call the police? Oh my god, are you sure you're okay? How did he touch you? Did he hurt you?"
"He didn't hurt me... it's just fucking scary. It's creepy. I'm pretty sure he's been squatting in that house, or something." You confirmed.
