"Broaden your minds, you must look into the future." Professor Trelawney instructed in her usual mystic manner. Y/n, Ron and I kept our heads down and kept staring at the crystal ball not paying attention to what Trelawney was saying, except for Hermione.
"Ooooh and what do we have here?" we all jerked up as Trelawney made her way towards us. "What do you see?" she asked smiling broadly at us. "Mind if I try?" Hermione asked and Trelawney merrily nodded. "The grim, possibly."
"My dear, the first moment you stepped into my class I sensed that you did not posses the proper spirit for the noble art of divination." She took Hermione's hand in hers softly and continued, "You see, you may be young in years, but the heart that beats behind your skin is shriveled as an old maid's. Your soul is as dry as the books which you so desperately cleave."
Hermione stood up, knocked the crystal ball off the table and stomped out of the class room. We all shared shocked yet impressed expressions with each other.
"Have I said something?" Professor Trelawney asked as if nothing happened.
~~~
"She is a fraud!" Hermione exclaimed as we walked down the stairs. "She's gone mental! Just lost the only student that actually paid attention to her." Ron said and we three laughed but stopped as soon as we met with Hermione's deathly glare.
"Hang on!" I said as I noticed the crystal ball that lie at the floor, "We must return this."
"I am not going back there." Y/n said and Ron agreed.
"All right, I'll just go and keep this back." I said as I walked back up. I slowly kept the crystal ball at Trelawney's table and just as I turned to go back Trelawney was standing there looking stunned. Then she spoke,
"He will return tonight! Tonight! He who betrayed his friends. His heart, fraught with murder shall break free! Innocent blood will be shed and servant and master shall be reunited one more!!" she gasped deeply and started to cough before looking at me. I stood there frozen after what I had just heard.
"I am so sorry dear, did you say something?" "No!! Nothing!" I quickly spoke and rushed out from her classroom.
As I walked down the stairs I saw Y/n was still standing there.
"What took you so long? I have been waiting for you. . ."
"Y/n listen I need to tell you something. . ." I told her everything and she looked confused and worried.
"Look we all know that half the times Trelawney's not in her mind. . . So don't worry much, but as she said 'tonight' I'll suggest you to take care. Don't tell Ron and Hermione though."
"Yeah. . ."
Y/N's POV
"I can't believe they're killing Buckbeak! Harry and I rode it, it's not at all dangerous. It's not Buckbeak's fault if Malfoy is stupid enough to not listen to what Hagrid was saying. I mean anyone would lose his temper if someone provoked them. Overhear, Buckbeak is just an animal." I kept on muttering as we walked down to Hagrid's hut to support him during Buckbeak's execution.
