September had came, still with its bright sky from the summer break, and its cold wind from the coming fall. No other day was better than today to choose to wake up earlier than your own alarm, at least for Shana.
Shana Davino.
The kind girl who most people loved and loved most of those people. The girl some adored and some envied. The girl who was friends with everyone but chose to keep everything in a small circle of her closest friends.
The girl who somehow woke up earlier than her alarm, which was already set earlier than everyone who lived in her block or even the entire area where she was living in, not to mention on the very first day of the new school term. Who the hell did that?
Shana Davino did.
Anyone would assume that she was that kind of person who was a smart head and was so excited to learn new things from school, or the kind of social butterfly who was excited to meet her friends again — which was untrue remembering the countless times she went on trips and lunch dates with them during the summer holiday — or the kind of person who put so much effort to appear flawless and gave a not less than perfect impression in any way in front of other students for the upcoming school year.
None of them was Shana Davino.
Shana would wake up super early just for the sake of waking up early, not wasting her time in the dreamland even if she enjoyed flying over the clouds more than helping her mother prepare for breakfast. But in her dictionary, too much is too much. If four hours of nighttime sleep was enough to give her the satisfaction of fighting dragons or getting married to prince charming, then she needed no more than that four hours.
She enjoyed taking her time getting ready for school and having her breakfast in peace, never in a rush. She learned it from how her brother used to get bruises from falling off the stairs at home, missing his car key, arriving at school with a bed head and inside out hoodie, also mistaking Tuesday for being Thursday. It all happened on the same day, and to think that girls found it charming and they still drooled over him, was making Shana question her own sanity.
Shana treasured her ability to be calm and find tranquility even in the most chaotic event, no matter if it was related to a certain someone — or not?
"Morning," she greeted her mother who just descended from upstairs, fully clothed with her usual outfits she wore at her bakery.
Even in her late 40s, she still had the ability to stunned people with her appearance and the way she carried herself. Her amber eyes, warm ivory complexion, plump lips, and long wavy light brown hair, attracted the attention of others to the point that there were a couple of times when some people even from the younger ages dared to hit on her. And her great sense of fashion was just another plus point. She indeed aged like a fine wine.
