Noel

Hurry up

I'm at the parking lot.

Noel was still sitting inside his car, wishing that Samuel would arrive as soon as possible. From where he was parking, he could see more and more students were arriving. It was about 15 minutes before class started and there was still no sight of his only friend, though he saw Ara coming out from what he assumed was her parents' car earlier. He was about to give it another five minutes to wait for Samuel, even when they were not in the same year — because the thought of walking among the crowded hallway alone gave him a bit anxiety — but then he saw three familiar figures coming out from a black Range Rover Sport which parked right across where he parked his car.

They were Shana's friends, part of the five close-knitted friends group she was in.

Aanya Sharma, with her tan complexion and long straight black hair, was a small eccentric girl whom he probably interacted with the most in the group due to being on the yearbook committee together, and also the fact that his job for the bulletin board was under her supervision as she was the head of the student council publicity. They talked occasionally but never outside the topic of their jobs and duties, but from those interactions, he knew better not to be on her bad side. With her blunt and straightforward personality, also her sharp stare that was sent from the black orbs behind her thin gold-rimmed glasses, Aanya was not a force to go against, and definitely not about the thing she was so passionate about: her job.

Next was Rio Jelani, probably one of the most popular and sought after guys at school. Being the captain and point guard of Greystone High School's basketball team really soared up his position on the social ladder, not to mention the great body that came along with his hard work and practice, literally a sight worth to fantasize about. Noel never had the chance to know him personally, but from the rumors that were circulating around, he was just like a grumpy old man who lived only with his collection of rifles hanging on the wall of his house. With a frown permanently attached to his face, no flirty smiles and seductive touches were able to break this 6'6 giant from glaring at literally every human he came across. Well, except her four close friends, of course.

The other boy was Orlando Brown. Another giant of the group, standing at 6'5 which was a bit shorter than Rio, yet bulkier and with more muscles than him, thanks to the workout he did to maintain his position as the offensive guard of the school's football team. He was just like how he appeared to be, all smiles and happiness. He was definitely the sunshine and the baby of the group, loving the attention and care his friends gave him. Known as the jock who loved a good laugh, he could be seen randomly sitting on a table full of people in the cafeteria whom he might or might not ever interact with just to tell them a joke he found funny. He considered himself to be that one who was friends with everyone, even the bitchy mean girls and the arrogant jerks — that depended on whether or not both Grace and Rio were a part of those classifications though. Nevertheless, he was the kind of guy who was comfortable to be around, even when sometimes that personality scared some others.
