WARNING: MAJOR TIME SKIP COMING UP IN THIS CHAPTER! CHARACTER DEATH! THE END OF REBORN MAY BE APPROACHING SOON!

Morina and Morien are the names the couple had agreed on. Morina was born first and Morien was born three minutes after her. The interesting part was the perfect mix and match between the children and their parents.

Morina had small tufts of black, amber, and gold hair whilst Morien had tufts of h/c hair. Until recently, the children hadn't opened their eyes yet. Morina had e/c eyes and Morien with amber, golden eyes instead.

"They're perfect," Y/n hummed, gently rubbing Morien's back. "Both of them."

Yes, Zhongli agreed. They truly are perfect.

What will their vision be? Will they even have one? Surely they will? Both parents have one. Perhaps one will have Pyro and the other will have Geo?

"What if they don't have any visions?"

A pity but it cannot be helped.

Zhongli leaned down to softly kiss Morina's forehead then stole a kiss from Y/n.

"It cannot be helped then, Y/n. Vision or no, it will not change how I see our children."

And he kept his word.

As the children grew older, Zhongli anxiously waited for one or both of the children to show signs of visions. While growing up, Morien had an infatuation with flames. Often, Morien would sit by the fireplace and stare or follow his mother around and pleaded to see her use her vision. Oftentimes, Morina would follow her father around instead with the intention of learning more about Liyue and its history.

Pyro and Geo. An interesting power duo, Zhongli would admit. A part of him hoped Morien would inherit the Geo vision. It would be more ideal for a son to take over the family legacy more so than the daughter, but as he had said before, he would not treat Morina any differently if she were to inherit it instead.

They are his children therefore, they are equal to each other. Therefore, they are expected to be treated the same. Therefore, neither will be favored one or the other.

Well, that was Zhongli's intention at first. As soon as Morien was old enough to speak and walk, Zhongli had whisked him away for some father and son time. It did not go as Zhongli had planned as much as he hated to admit. Morien was fidgety and quite skittish. He would often look over his shoulder and his surroundings until he and Zhongli returned home.

When Zhongli took Morina out, she was more than eager to follow along. She asked questions, she listened, she observed, and she learned. At this point, it became evident who was going to inherit who's vision.

"Are you disappointed?"

Y/n leaned against Zhongli's broad frame as the couple watched their children sleep from the doorframe.

"A bit," Zhongli admitted. "But it cannot be helped, I suppose. Albeit, it would be a shock to discover both of our children inherited Geo."

"Is that possible?" Y/n asked, pulling away to look up at her husband. "Surely not?"

Zhongli shook his head.

"Perhaps, perhaps not. We will have to see."

It wasn't until the twin's tenth birthday Morina's Vision came through.

As expected, Geo. As for her brother, his vision has not made an appearance until three years later with Electro instead of Pryo.

"I'm so confused," Y/n admitted. "I don't understand. Shouldn't he have inherited Pyro?"

"It is possible for visions to skip generations, darling," Zhongli told her. "Perhaps Electro had skipped over you and you were given Pryo instead and Morien was given Electro in return."

Despite the differences in vision, the parents tried their best to train and help their children to the best of their abilities. Morina, of course, spent more time with her father more than her mother and vise versa for Morien.

However, when it came to weapons training, the tides have changed. Morien became more proficient in the polearm whilst Morina became more proficient in using her environment until Ganyu introduced Morina to archery instead. Ganyu started to help with training and Xiao would step in to offer advice to Morien.

As years started to pass away, Y/n's life slowly started to grow shorter and shorter. Training was put to a stop as soon as they turned sixteen after their mother had collapsed all of a sudden. The doctor informed the family Y/n should no longer perform any physically draining activities. The children and Zhongli took it upon themselves to continue doing the chores in her stead despite Y/n's protests.

And they continued to until Y/n eventually passed away in her sleep at age 87. The entire harbor mourned for the loss of her and gathered together for her funeral. The children who once learned from Y/n spoke fond memories of their beloved former teacher. Moments they had believed worth speaking about.

Tears were shed, prayers were said, and condolences were given to the grieving family.

Goodbye, my darling dearest.

Zhongli gently twisted the ring resting on his ring finger.

Never will I ever forget you
