I'm so awfully sorry for not updating in a while. I have no excuse. So so sorry.

I shouldn't make promises that I can't keep but one promise is that no matter what, I will finish this story.

Ino's POV
Remember what I said about saying yes to whoever the mystery guy was? I take it back.

I couldn't believe it. My friends betrayed me. They were helping Shikamaru to ask me to prom. How could they do that to me?

After what he called me and the pain he's caused me. I looked at Sakura and gave her a look of anger and betrayal. How could they help Shikamaru.

I looked at Tenten and I could tell she was thinking the same thing.

"Ino, it's not what you think. We did all of this as an apology to you. Because you deserved one." Hinata reassured me.

"Yeah, and got revenge. We were killing two birds with one stone. As a way of revenge, we got him to pay for all that stuffs as an apology to you." Sakura added.

I felt so silly. Of course they would never betray me. What was I thinking?

Shikamaru did all of it to apologize? That's actually a little bit sweet.

"Well I was also hoping you'd change your mind about being my date." Shikamaru said handing me the flowers.

Sakura looked like she was going to skin him alive if Hinata didn't restrain her.

"And what makes you think she'd go with you? You think a simple walk in the light garden would change what you did?" I heard Tenten say angrily behind me.

I took the flowers from a frightened Shikamaru.

"This is sweet and all. And I like that you did all these to say sorry even if a simple apology card and chocolate would suffice." I say.

Shikamaru had a face which I could read as 'wait it was that easy?'

My powers make it super easy to read people. Even people as grey as Sasuke and Shikamaru are like open books to me.

He seemed really sorry but hey chocolate and the best day ever wasn't gonna reverse what he did.

But I did appreciate him doing all these so yeah I could forgive him.

"But I'm not going to prom with you. You called me a whore and I really didn't like that. So I'll go to prom with my friends." I said.

"But thanks for the kind gesture. That was really sweet and I had an amazing day. Now if you'll excuse me." I said as I walked away.

I don't know if I read him wrong but he seemed a bit heartbroken more disappointed actually.

"Ino." I heard Sakura call after me.

"I'm just gonna go home." I told her as I left the light garden.

Sakura's POV
After Ino left, I turned to Shikamaru boiling with anger.

"That wasn't part of the plan idiot." I yelled at him.

Hinata tried keeping me calm.

"Well i mean you never said I couldn't ask her again." Shikamaru replied.

"Okay I don't know what is happening here so someone better start explaining." Tenten's voice sounded behind me.

"I'll text you everything till then, let's all just go home and get some rest. It's been a long day okay?" Hinata suggested.

I took a breath. Hinata was right. I should blow off some steam.

"Yeah Hinata is right" I said.

"Let me drive you guys home." Naruto said.

Before I could object Ino drives past and horns for us.

"You ladies coming or what?" She yelled so we could hear.

"I think that's our ride. Uh see you later." I stated awkwardly before going to join Ino. I was followed by Hinata. Neji and Tenten were still talking and judging by the look on Tenten's face she was not happy.

Before I saw her storm off towards the car, she slammed the door as she got in.

"Whoa easy girl." I said to her.

"Don't "whoa easy girl" me cause I'm mad at you." She snapped at me.

I don't even get why she's mad. Ino is the victim here.

"Why are you mad?" I snapped. I didn't mean to but I was stressed. We were all stressed and literally the only person who the stress wasn't getting to her was Hinata.

"Gee i don't know maybe the fact that you made me go on a date with Neji and made me have one of the most amazing day of my life only for me to find out it was just a plot to get Shikamaru to prompose to Ino and that nothing today was real made me mad!" Tenten ranted.

"Okay if you guys don't quiet down, you guys would be walking home." Ino said.

"Okay guys calm down. I get that we are all stressed but that's no reason to be at each others throat." Hinata scolded us.

"You know what we need. A sleepover." Hinata said.

"Another one?" Tenten whined.

"Yeah good idea. So we could talk about what happened today." Ino said.

I hummed in agreement while Tenten huffed.
