I leave Ella in the rain, the trees surrounding me. They brush against each other, creating a soft dance to contrast the staccato of the weather.

I've grown attached to this place; I've grown attached to a dream that can not be. I've opened my heart and let the hope in, only to have it shatter. Happiness is pointless now. I can't be happy here.

The rain begins falling harder as I near the dormitory, the foliage catching it before allowing it to cascade to the ground.

I open the door to the dormitory and head to my room, ignoring Elise as she begins speaking. My door slams shut behind me as I sink to my knees.

Tears like the rain outside begin to fall, gracing my cheeks and ending the drought they've seen. My body hurts, pain sinks into me, bruises blooming across my body like wildflowers. As aches fill my soul, both physical and mental, I clutch my head with my hands.

I had gotten a chance to start over, a chance to be normal. And I have been ordinary for half of today. I've been happy.

The sky darkens as I begin packing my bag, all I take is my sketchbook, my pencils, and some clothes.

With Sean here, Surrey will be better, less cruel. I'll go back there, start over and leave Sean behind me. I can have friends, and I can draw, I can find love. I've caught a glimpse of what my life can be, and I will forge the ruins of my life back at home to what I have had here. This has all been a dream to make me stronger. I will make myself happy.

But not here.

The others have already gone for dinner. James had knocked on my door, asking if I wanted to join them. I had said no.

The wind howls as I flee the house, the clouds are crimson as the setting sun struggles to break through the storm. It's stopped raining, and all that is left is the ghost of a storm, the horizon is blood, the clouds a million fractured bones.

Gradually the Academy passes me. I leave it in my past, taking one last glimpse of the school and its exquisite gardens.

I find the path my limousine had taken and join onto it. The trees stop swaying as the wind turns to whispers. My feet are the only noise, crunching along the dirt road, the rest of the world has fallen quiet.

The stars begin shining from the deep crimson once 15 minutes have elapsed.

The forest is quiet, the scuffle of wild animals filling the air. Crickets chirp, toads croak, and bats fly through the sky like phantoms.

I stop. A motor.

They can't be looking for me this soon. I've only been gone for thirty minutes.

I turn a corner and blinding light flashes. A vehicle stands in front of me with ten or so men and women around it.

Shit.
