The Royals

Canamerexo Kingdom, 11PM

The full moon casted cold rays of  light as a man with a mask of gold waited from his throne.

He has been waiting for roughly two hours now, and he's beginning to lose his patience. "Riva," He growled, "get my son."

The guard nodded, and she made her way swiftly to the prince's room. The king remained on his seat, tapping his silver rings on the arms of the mighty chair.

"That's our boy," said the queen with a grin. The king simply sighed. "Why can't he be more responsible? He's a prince, for God's sake. Some day he's gonna have to uphold the throne."

The queen shook her head, disappointed. "He is seventeen. He does need to grow up and take responsibility."

Just then, the prince came through the heavy door to the throne room. "You called?" He said, trying to act cool but ending up tripping on air and falling face first into the red carpet. "Ouff-"

"Yes, Rowan." The king hissed as Rowan pulled himself back up. "We 'called' two hours ago."

Rowan winced. "Yeah... I uh... I was busy."

"We have been meaning to talk to you regarding your marriage arrangement." Said Queen Mary. "The prettiest women in this country are traveling to our palace at this very moment."

Prince Rowan's shoulders sank, and he lowered his head.

"What's wrong?" His mother frowned. "Don't you-"
"Look boy, you will marry a woman tomorrow and you will like it, understand?" King Shaun rumbled from his seat. "You must carry out our legacy. There is no adoption, no donation, nothing. Your country needs a King and a Queen, you hear me?"

Rowan nodded, wide-eyed, basically trembling in his boots. Queen Mary elbowed the King, giving him a stern look. "You are excused, sweetie." She said as King Shaun glared at her.

"He is just a boy!" Mary hissed to Shaun as Rowan closed the doors behind him. Rowan heard this.

"I'll show them." Rowan grumbled to himself. "I don't need to marry a random woman from the streets. I already have someone in mind."

He looked out his bedroom window and smiled softly. "And he sure as hell ain't a woman."

Why hello there! This was the prologue, so these aren't exactly the main characters/Protagonist. If anything, the king may be the antagonist. If you enjoyed this, let me know and I'll continue with this story! If not, then I'll continue anyway, idc. Someone's bound to like it.

Fanart will be much appreciated 😊
