"Ting, ting, ting"...
Sameer and Tejo stood in front of their homes temple as the priest rang the bells and both prayed for a happy and healthy beginning of their new life. Tejo felt weird as she called this her home. Their welcome was no less than a festival while Tejo's previous marriage welcome was a mandatory task, everyone here celebrated like it was a festival. The home was very big, the car had turned into a driveway lit with lights and a light canopy hung across the entire path, on the left was a beautiful lake that had candles and diyas floating while the right was a beautiful garden area. The driveway was a large drive and as the car finally turned to the right it revealed the large family home. Sameer's mother and babhi stood at the doorway with aarti and kalash smiling as the rest of the family stood beside them. Sameer's door was opened by a young man who also drove them here, he was Salil, Sameer's closest and childhood friend. Tejo was awestruck by the grand splendor of the decorations and the home and seeing the family wait for their new daughter in law with so much enthusiasm made her emotional. While her old welcome made her feel like a burden this time she felt like one of their own already. Sameer had asked Tejo to forget about everything that had happened at the wedding and in her past. He wanted her to focus on their future, Sameer wasn't interested in her past and wished Tejo to forget it as well he acknowledged that it might be hard for her but he assured her that he would always support her. Tejo and Sameer were welcomed with the tradition aarti, kalash and some traditional ceremonies. Tejo had put her hand prints on the wall outside the home next to the main door, she saw a pair of hand prints already there and looked at Meera as she smiled acknowledging her prints from when she got married. Tejo put her hand prints under Meera's and smiled looking at her new family who all beamed back at her. Stepping into the red water plate stumbling to keep balance Tejo instinctively held Sameer's forearm, slightly shy at what she just did she quickly let go. Sameer smiled as he softly held her arm while Tejo held her lengha so it didn't get wet. Tejo looked up slightly at his touch, and they both stepped into their home beginning their new life leaving her red footprints behind in place of her bad memories. Sameer and Tejo now stood in the temple and prayed for their future together. Taking the blessings of the family's elders, Tejo and Sameer were taken to play some after wedding games. The first one was the classic ring in the milk bowl. The ring would be put in a milk bowl and the person to find it twice would be declared as the more dominating one in the relationship. While Sameer found the ring the first time, the next two times Tejo found it making her the winner. Sameer's family was more than happy seeing Tejo win and Sameer joked if they were really his family as they had changed sides faster then a chameleon. Ignoring his talks the second game begun, this time a thread was tied to both their right hands and they had to remove the others thread using only their left hand. Tejo tried to remove the thread but feeling Sameer's fingers on her wrist had her slightly distracted. Sameer quickly untied the thread and won. Dadi said it would be a perfect couple as both had won one game, hence not one would be dominating instead they both would be equals in this relationship. Hearing Dadi Sameer and Tejo looked at each other as Sameer slightly nodded at her. The third game had them moving steel plates from one spot to another across from it. The plates had other utensils on them and they would have to move them using a stick. The husband is suppose to move the plates while the wife gathers the plates and utensils on them and puts them aside. The idea is to move and organize the plates in a quick manner without making any sound or noise. It's believed that the plates or the utensils represent problems or situations in their lives, if they both complete the game without making any noise then it means that they will be able to face any situation in their married lives without any issues or noise. The husband does his part while the wife does hers as in a relationship but both working together. Sameer quietly moved the plates and signaled Tejo which plate or utensil to pick up first. Tejo quickly understood what Sameer meant and nodding her head obliged, both had finished the game quickly and quietly without making a noise. Neither of them required any words or directions to make the other understand, they both understood what the other meant without having to say a word. Dadi watched on with a smile as she saw what she believed in come to life. Dadi knew that Sameer and Tejo were meant to be life partners and was happy that others could see it too know, looking at the temple she closed her eyes and prayed for her kids happiness.
