Tejo and Sameer had slowly gotten accustomed to each others company. While Tejo was learning more about the house she had gotten along very nicely with everyone almost as if it hadn't been a couple weeks of her being married but a couple years. Dadi put Tejo blending in with the family similar to sugar melting in milk, it blends in and adds sweetness as Tejo had in the family. Living with everyone for two weeks Tejo picked up people's habits and behaviors very well. Sameer's mother was a kind, generous and loving mother but didn't sugarcoat false comments, she was honest and kind, Tejo felt Sameer had taken a lot after her. Sameer's father was a loud, boisterous man, with a heart of gold, if he only had $20 and someone needed $15 he would give it all without a second thought. He was big and his mustache gave a sense of seriousness but the moment he entered the room he immediately had everyones attention, he made jokes and got along with old and young alike. They had truly considered Tejo as their daughter and did everything they could to make her feel happy and at home, they would also tell Sameer off if he spent longer at the office instead of coming back home on time. While Sameer never gave them a reason to be really upset, they showed that if it ever came to that point they would side with Tejo and the truth and would not blindly believe Sameer just because he was their son. Tejo doubted that it would ever come to that, Sameer was caring of everyone and perfect in every way. In such a short time he seemed to understand Tejo without her having to say a word, its like he could read her eyes, as if they spoke to him before her lips. Sameer was an open book, he was bad at hiding his feelings, whatever he felt was clearly shown on his face. If he was happy the smile was vivid even if he didnt curve his lips, however if he was disturbed his face would be slightly serious. Tejo noticed that with everyone in the family Sameer was normal even Lucky and Tammy but with his brother Akash, there was a slight hesitation. Even in happy moments when the family laughed together Sameer always seemed to reserve some distance from Akash. Tejo found it weird, while Sameer didnt act indifferently with him, Tejo could sense a slight pause in Sameer's actions when Akash was near. Tejo felt the family also knew, Meera could also see it and often shaked her head when Akash said certain things or acted in a certain way. Akash was also kind, unlike Sameer he was more relaxed, took everything a lot more easily while Sameer was focused and took every task seriously. Akash was kind to Tejo as well, joking with her every now and then, Tejo understood while both the brothers were nice deep down, they were very different from each other. Sameer was organized, serious, mature while Akash still had a childish approach to many things, Sameer's personality was seen in what he wore, how he carried himself, how he groomed himself. Sameer had a fast focused gait, always wearing clean formal clothes with his wavy hair combed to the side. Akash wore casual clothes, even to work he would wear casual tops and pants, Akash was more relaxed and often pushed things to the next day or to someone else, if Sameer was determined, Akash was unmotivated. Meera was very loving to Tejo as well, Tejo felt as if she had found an elder sister. While in her maayaka Tejo was the elder one often needing to carry most the responsibilities here she found Meera was the responsible one and Tejo gladly helped her in any way she could. Meera also taught Tejo everything she would need to be more comfortable in the family, kindly informing her of family traditions and rituals to which she was not accustomed to. Meera was much like Sameer, selfless in her love for the family, no wonder why Sameer and Meera got along so well and why Sameer respected her so much. The first time Sameer was late from the office, Tejo waited in their room for him. After waiting for some time she decided to walk outside and found Meera warming food and making hot rotis for Sameer. Sameer hadn't eaten and Meera very lovingly scolded him for the same. Sameer smiled as Meera pulled his ear for not wanting another roti. Tejo walked back up not wanting to interrupt their moment. After some time Sameer walked into the room trying not to make much noise. "Your still awake" asked Sameer walking in as he saw Tejo sitting on the couch waiting for him. "I wanted to wait for you, I didn't know when you'd be back and I couldn't fall asleep until you were back." Sameer looked on impressed, he did'nt think wives waited for their husbands anymore. "I'm sorry, there were things that I needed to finish today at the office and then I came home and babhi caught me. She never lets me sleep without having dinner, sometimes Maa reminds me on the phone to eat but babhi will make sure I eat in front of her if I'm late" Sameer said as he removed his phone and keys and put his stuff away. Tejo watched as Sameer spoke of Meera so reverently. "Your very close to her aren't you" asked Tejo with a smile on her face. Sameer turned around and paused before answering "She become my mother and my friend as soon as she came in our house. Maa has always loved me but babhi became my mother without me even realizing it. Everyone in the family knows about our bond, that's what even Maa sleeps peacefully because she knows babhi is there. My parents are loving and caring but sometimes I feel like..." Sameer stopped looking around with a slight hurt in his eyes. He didnt know how to continue, or maybe he wasn't comfortable sharing something so personal with Tejo just yet. "Babhi was there when everyone was busy and babhi is here even now. Just look today for example, everyone is sleeping even Lucky and Tammy are asleep, your awake but babhi was the only one who waited downstairs for me. Don't get me wrong Tejo, I am not one of those husbands who expects his wife to wait for him like she has nothing better to do nor am I suggesting you to do certain things, I'm not. You are your own individual and you can make your own decisions. What I'm saying is that I put a lot of emotions and efforts in everything I do, not everyone notices it but babhi does, maybe because she also does the same for everyone around her and I notice that as well. Theres a lot of respect I have for her and she cares for me like her child yet she understands me like a friend. Sorry, I'm not the best with words, often times I can't put how I feel into words and end up rambling like I think I just did. Very few people understand me for that reason. You should sleep without waiting for me" he said calmly before going to the bathroom to change. Tejo was slightly taken aback, Sameer wasn't rude but for the first time there was a slight coldness in his words, he didn't want Tejo to wait for him. While he went out of his way for Tejo, he didnt expect her to do the same for him. Tejo was confused but decided to not bring anything up right now as it was late and Sameer must be tired. After changing and saying goodnight, both Sameer and Tejo went to sleep, while Tejo slept on the bed, Sameer ended the night on the couch.

As Tejo got up the next morning she saw Sameer's blanket already put away. She could hear the shower in the bathroom which meant he already completed his workout and was getting ready for the day. Tejo looked to see it was only 7:15 AM, that meant Sameer must have been up a little before or around 6 AM, she wondered how he was up so easily despite coming home around 2 AM. Tejo was pulled out of her thoughts as she found Sameer's phone ringing on the table across the room. She walked up to find the phone flashing Manager Uncle, Sameer's phone often rang and pinged of emails, he rarely texted anyone but only the people from the office called him or texted him. The call ended before ringing again, Tejo wondered whether she should pick it up or not before she heard the bathroom door open. The shower had turned off and Sameer must have heard his phone or his watch must have showed the phone call. Tejo turned around to find Sameer at the door with his towel wrapped around his waist walking quickly over to her, his wavy hair was wet and pulled back over his head as the water dripped down his neck. Sameer's bare torso shined with the water and Tejo stood frozen as she watched him with wide eyes, Sameer now stood next to her dangerously close, as he picked the phone up. Tejo stood still afraid to move, afraid to breathe, her breath was hitched in her throat, she could smell Sameer's body wash, clean and fresh with a slight citrus scent, Sameer took cold showers and the closeness could almost fan Tejo with his cold body, she looked out and traced a water droplet that dripped from his collar bone and worked its way down his slight body hair before disappearing into his belly button, looking further down Tejo could see the V his pelvic bones formed above the towel and before her mind would wonder any further Tejo quickly looked away. Still standing in the same position Tejo heard Sameer say "What? I'm coming don't say anything to anyone, wait for me" and with that Sameer quickly walked into the closet to grab his clothes left after saying a quick goodbye to Tejo. It must have been something urgent Tejo thought. She wondered what it was and whether she should ask someone but remembered how Sameer asked Manager Uncle to not say anything to anyone and decided it was best if she didn't intrude without speaking to Sameer first.

Throughout the day Tejo couldn't help but think about Sameer, the way he stood close to her, the way he looked in his bare torso, Tejo had never been attracted to physical looks but she wouldn't deny that Sameer was very appealing, and maybe his kindness and dedication to work made him even more appealing to Tejo. But that wasn't all that Tejo was thinking about, she wondered what the serious work was so early in the morning, she would only find out when Sameer came home and decided it was best to wait for him. Tejo spent the rest of the day helping Shaurya and Diya complete their homework, do work around the house and then help Meera in the kitchen. Tejo learned to cook some of Sameer's favorite dishes from Maa and Meera, while Sameer wasn't very picky in eating, he was used to eating what he ate. Tejo would've never guessed but Sameer preferred spicy food, a trait his mother claims he got from his father. Tejo enjoyed cooking and with Maa and Meera the time flew even faster.
