"Hey! Are you blind?!" Amara yells in the school hallway when she gets pushed into her locker by a numbskull neanderthal looking the opposite direction.
"Oh! Sorry, um... I'm Nick." He says while blush covered his face
"Cool, hi Nick, you just got sodium chloride all over my science note book." Amara said back with a snooty and annoyed voice.
"Oh, sorry let me help you." He said with guilt in his voice and eyes. "Your not like, normal are you?"
"What do you mean by 'not normal', I see that you are very normal, and I can say that with confidence because most guys at this school are idiots."
" well it's just that your stronger than all of the other girls at this school."
"A goldfish will be stronger than all of the other girls at this school. I asked one to get the other soda box for the PTA meeting and she had to have around five other girls help her, and they won't get any stronger if all they eat is salad." She turns around and starts to face her locker again. Getting her hair situated the way she wants it in her locker door mirror, she hears the same voice by her ear.
"I can teach you." Nick says
"I don't need to be taught, I'd rather be like this than anything like Carley."
"What's wrong with Carley?" He says with an ear-to-ear smile.
"She threw my family on the streets, and then my dad had a heat stroke and died and my mom got sick and died and my little sister is starving and she's probably going to be dead by next month." Amara says like its nothing.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry, what can I do to help?" He says.
"Have any food? Or, you know, a house?" Amara says with a hint of joking doubtfulness in her voice.

"Well, I dont just have an extra house laying around." Nick says as if it were a joke "But i do have plenty of food."

"Really? Are you serious?" Amara says with exitement in her voice.

"You seem like you could use it and to be honest, ive liked you for a while and I have always wanted to say something to you but I think its so much better to think that im actually helping you!" he says with the cutest half smirk that Amara has ever seen and as she was destracted by his adorable mix between a black quiff and big blue eyes, his white smile hidden by his little smirk.

"Sure." Amara says with admeration.

"Um, what?" He says still witholding his beautiful half smirk.

"Sure." She says again as if she were distracted. Up until Nick has admitted to her that he had a thing for her, she hasnt realized that she needed to admit to herself that she has been caught sneaking a peak at his perfect face.

4:45 pm after Amara gets off school she gets back to the bridge and she pauses as if the whole world has stoped like it was waiting for something, like the universe was hesitant about wether it should go left or right, then randomly, the earth started spinning again and she realized that her sister, her sister was sitting there with sweat beading down her forehead. She ran over as quick as she could to see if she was still alive, she caught her just in time to hear her voice one more time. All she could think about is how she could have saved her. She took her time and stayed for more time at school when she could have been svaing her sisters life.
