HAPPY TSUKIKAGE DAY ENJOY THE FLUFF
Tsukishima watched from the distance as Kageyama landed a perfect service ace on the opposite end of the court earning a cheer from the crowd.
"That was amazing tobio!" He heard his captain and best friend scream from beside him.
"Could you not scream tadashi? I'm right here and it hurts my ears" he complained disregarding the hurt expression on the ravens face.
"Sorry kei but you have to admit it was an amazing serve"
"It was a serve tadashi nothing we haven't seen him do time and time again" as Tsukishima stood up to grab his number card the gym went quiet at the sudden sound of the ball hitting the floor harshly. He turned and immediately ran over to the pale body that was about to hit the ground.
"Hinata nurse" he looked to the side to see Hinata still standing there in shock. "Shoyou nurse!"
"R-right"
Yachi quickly dampened a towel and handed it to Tsukishima who placed it gently on the boys forehead and massaged his neck.
Hinata came back with a woman while the rest of the court was on their knee for respect. The crowd was trying to get a better look but the third years formed a circle around the boy to avoid cameras and attention they knew he didn't want.
"Here he is ma'am" Hinata ran his hands through his hair and started tapping his foot. Yachi placed a hand over his shoulder letting him know it's gonna be fine.
Ukai walked over to Tsukishima. "Oi, do you know if his parents-"
"Sir his parents are out of town" that was a lie, kageyama lives completely on his own.
"Right, well sit with him in the bench, aki will fill in for him" Tsukishima nodded and with the help of Yamaguchi lifted the you vest third year and got him off the court. The game resumed and karasuno won.
As people were filing out Kageyama looked around still coming down from the daze of going unconscious.
"Kei did we win?"
"We did"
His head rested on the blondes shoulder and on his face he wore a small smile that stopped his whole team.
"We won, and we won because of that amazing service ace of yours Kageyama-senpai!" Aki exclaimed with as much excitement as his orange haired senpai.
"It was just a serve, your sets on the other hand aki are getting really good, I'm proud" aki ran off with a smile while Yamaguchi came up to the two.
"You know you really are an amazing senpai Kageyama, and you played well today too"
"I got one really good serve in-"
"Would you stop?" Kageyama looked to the side so be met with honey golden eyes full of regret and anger. "That wasn't just one really good serve tobio and you know it and don't forget about the ones that came before that as well as the sets and quick attacks you pulled today so don't just say one good serve"
Kageyama sat up slowly." But you said it yourself it was just a serve like all the others"
"We're gonna clean up to so you guys can talk, take care of him kei and help him home, captains orders"
Yamaguchi glared at the blonde and sent the team to go clean up.
"Tobio I'll never be like you not even close, my serves are average while yours can and do win games, your serves can be stopped when you're on your streak but mine always are"
"Kei, I don't pity you because I know how much you hate it"
Tsukishima looked at him with confusion shadowing his features.
"But I do think you're better than me when it comes to a lot of things actually, I'm not the best nor are you but what matters is that I try, you try and I've seen you try but sometimes you settle for good enough Instead of great"
"But I-"
"And that's not a bad thing at all but if you want to deplete the insecurity that you're feeling then work for it, you were born with a natural talent for books and math I've seen you try so hard in exams and college entries, I could never do that because my grades are just good enough."
Tsukishima finally understood what Kageyama was trying to say.
"Kei as much as I want to continue to stand by you in volleyball, I know that your eyes and mind show you somewhere else where you don't have to settle for good enough and you can go on to achieve amazing, and I'm more than excited to see you follow that okay?"
"Okay" Tsukishima smiled placing his hand on the ravens head and running his fingers through his hair. He pulled him close and kissed the top of his head."let's get you home, it is captains orders"
