"I love you" he said as he pressed his lips to the raven haired boys own. The euphoric feeling sucked them both in. Time moved in slow motion, seconds like minutes and minutes like hours. The confession lasted ten minutes and the sting of realization never left.
It's been a year, since he left, since they parted. He left just as quickly as his lips left tobios. To Tokyo he went, as a teen fresh out of high school to go to a good college with an amazing scholarship and even more awe-inspiring education.
While he learned how to grow a career he also learned how much he needed the support that Tobio was able to provide, how much he needed Tobio seven if it was just a few words or exchanged messages, he needed him and nothing could change his hard working, longing, tired mind.
"I'm twenty now, I don't know if you even care, why the hell am I even here, you're not dead you're just an asshole" Tobio spoke to the moon as he sat under a tree. "I remember when we used to come here, this is where you told me you loved me, and you kissed me, how could you?" He stood up letting the now falling drops of rain hit his face.
"How could you make me believe you love me, make me fall for you more than I already had and then leave without saying anything?" Tears mixed with rain drops clouded his eyes. "I still come here to talk to the moon, you used to tell me that when we were apart you could hear me through the stars and I'd hear you through the moon, do you hear me kei? I fucking love you, i want you and i need you here." His tears crashed at his feet. "You know I still tell people I'm taken because I hope that wherever you are you do the same, that maybe you do love me"
"I do, i never stopped" Tobios head turned to the voice, he quickly wiped his eyes. Kei looked into those blue eyes, the ones he longed for, the ones that were an immediate sense of comfort and security.
"You" Tobio walked towards him stopping right in front of him. "You fucking asshole!" Tsukishima groaned as the shorter male began to pound on his chest. "You left me! You made me believe that bullshit your smart ass mouth was spilling every day!" Slowly the blows got weaker as Tobio left his hands fall. He pressed his forehead to Tsukishimas damp chest. "I....I hate you b-"
"I know-"
"Let me finish you prick" he backed away slightly. "I hate you but, I need you, the hate I feel isn't for you, it's for the way you left, left me with these thoughts and the feeling that I was the reason, it's really awful to have to hear from someone you barely talk to that the person you thought was your soulmate left you for college without saying anything"
"I thought it would be easier that way"
"No! You don't get to decide what's easiest kei! A car can't drive without gas! You cant turn on the lights without electricity! This is a two person job kei! You don't get to decide that all on your own!"
"I get that, I'm sorry Tobio"
"Don't apologize kei, just...just go back to Tokyo if that's where you want to be, I'm not stopping you or holding you back you-"
"No you don't get to decide that either, I came home because I can't be In Tokyo, not without the person that inspires me to keep living, not without my support not without my other half and the person that has my whole heart and soul completely and their bend and will, not without you Tobio" he grabbed Tobios hands and pulled him close, their noses just barely touching. "If you're not there then I'm not either, I'm not doing anything without you Tobio"
Their lips met, rain getting caught in between. Their hands interlocked at the side and calloused hands ran through thick blonde curls. "I love you"
"You're not gonna leave this time?"
"I couldnt even if I tried"
That's the story of two lovers who's paths split but met at the end.
Sadly this wasn't the case for Tobio Kageyama. Having his lover pass at the you g age of twenty five with stage four lung cancer, he learned that some arrows point in different directions but the compas could never lead you the same way.
