It was Independence Day so we didn't have school today. I don't think Iby, Braydon, or I ever exchanged addresses so we could hangout ever, so I just went to the tree that we were at the other day. It felt...peaceful to say at least. I saw someone approaching in the distance. It didn't look like anyone I knew, so I was cautious. I picked up a stick off the ground just in case for safety reasons.

The distant figure became....recognizable? I think it was Luis from school, the new kid y'know? I put the stick down and asked him why he followed me. He replied back saying something along the lines of, "This tree is the burial grounds of my great grandfather. I come here everyday in remembrance of what he's done in my family. He was a great man, though he was kind of delusional." I had no idea this was a burial ground. Luis then said "I call this the Special Tree."

Something sparked inside me when I heard that name....back in my old town I had a tree that was special to me. I also called it my Special Tree. It's....weird honestly. I asked him if he had any other plans besides just sitting here and he said he was going to see the fireworks later on near the public park. He asked if I wanted to go with him since his family was too busy to go see them with him. I happily agreed because I've never really gone anywhere to see fireworks up close, I usually watched from my window. I have a feeling this is gonna be great :)
