Dan's POV

                      *5 years later*

I stared at the painting on the wall as if it was the most fascinating thing in the world. My blind date won't stop ranting to god knows what happened to her neighbour. I honestly lost her at the beginning since there was nothing particularly interesting about whatever the fuck her neighbour was doing and what happend to the dog. I mean who fucking cares. Not going to lie, my blind date, Rhonda, was beautiful and charming but she is too talkative. I don't like talkative people except for Her.

I quickly erased the thoughts of her out of my head. Even 5 years later she gives me the butterflies as she did the first time I saw her. She dazzled me with her beauty and I stood gawking at her, absolutely entranced. Her shyness with a tinge of sass and snarky comments is what made me curious about her but back then I didn't know that she would become such a huge part of my life. Suddenly feeling sad, I excused myself from Rhonda and made my way out of the restaurant, accidentally bumping into someone in the process.

"I am so sorry, sir. I didn't mean to bump into you." A cute small voice sounded beneath me as I jerked my head down to see a boy of no more than fours years old sprawled on the floor, panting and smiling at the same time. I smiled back and helped him up, patting his clothes to get rid of dust. "What are you doing all alone buddy? Where are your parents?" I asked curious about the little man who seemed a bit mature than his age.

"Mommy went to the roshroom to wash her hands." He cheered. I chuckled at his cute pronunciation of washroom. "Adrian Dan Powers." I heard a voice screaming behind me. The boy let out an ' uh oh' and hid himself in my arms. " I told you to sit obediently at the table and you ran away? Oh, you are asking to be spanked, little man." I looked up to see green eyes staring back at me, anger visible in those eyes. It was Her , Diana fucking Powers. "Diddy?" I asked, a shaking breath leaving me. What was she doing here?

Diana looked at me, shock clear on her pretty face. She stumbled back and I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her to me to prevent her from fall. We gazed at each other for while before I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. We snapped out of trance and I took a step back to create some space between us. " What are you doing here Dan? I thought you had to go somewhere?" A voice interrupted my train of thoughts and I came face to face with freaking Rhonda.

"Yeah..." I trailed off, awkwardly scratching my head. " And who the fuck is she?" She said in her grating voice. "Ex-fucking-cuse me?" I seethed , angered at her audacity to swear at Diana. " You don't fucking talk to her like that." I shouted at Rhonda, clearly forgetting about a certain child in room. I carried Adrian and pulled Diana away from her arm. I made my way towards my car and strapped Adrian in. " Where are you taking us?" Diana asked behind me in a quiet voice. I didnot respond back and helped her get seated. I rounded the car ans sat in driver's seat. The ride from the restaurant to my house was quiet except for when Adrian decided to sing Let it go in his way, the  way where half of the words were wrong and half were the words he made up. I pulled up in my driveway and Diana got out of the car and helped Adrian out. I opened the front door, letting them in the house and made them sit in living room. I made hot chocolate for Adrian and black coffee for me and Diana.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Diana. " You are back in the town?"

"Yes, I moved back a week ago."

"Then you didn't inform me?"

" Was I supposed to?"

"Yes you were." I got up from my seat, clearly infuriated by her remark. She had a nerve to talk to me like this. I suddenly heard a sniffle from behind and arms wrapping around my waist.

"Please don't go. I will not talk back to you. Please." She begged with her teary eyes and I instantly turned around and wrapped my arms around her, forgetting all the anger from before. My heart shattered at the sight of her tears. She still affects me the way she did 5 years ago. What happened to her all these years?

I place Diana in her seat and sat back down, glancing at Adrian, scanning his face and noticing features that were similar to Diana. Adrain looked at me and smiled, showing his two missing teeth at front. I  chuckled at how cute he looked and how his eyes looked exactly like Diana. "Hey buddy, you want to watch T.V while your mother and I talk?" I asked Adrian. He nodded and I immediately held out my hand, pulling him on the couch putting on a kid's channel. Once I settle Adrian down, I turn towards Diana who was watching our interaction with a smile.
