5 Months after the Sand storm
Judd sat in the fire station lounge reading a book on a slow day, feet prompted up on the table as he leaned back in the chair, and he read his book as he thought about Asmund and smiled softly, admiring how strong Asmund was being after everything he had been through. Asmund had continued his therapy while working and he was talking a little bit to his father, but he kept away from Owen's command while on the job and as far as Judd could tell, Asmund was happy as an EMT officer working under Tommy who took Asmund under her wing and taught him as much as she could. Asmund was also getting along with everyone at the station, even Tim was warming up to him, and Judd was grateful that Asmund had decided to return to the station. As Judd sat reading, he grabbed his coffee cup and took a drink when he heard someone enter the station and he glanced above his cup to see Asmund entering the station dressed in a black suit with a red button-up shirt and no tie as his hair was styled in a trimmed Fauxhawk style and Judd choked on his coffee as he was taken back with Asmund's new look.
"Hey Asmund, looking good." Marjan complimented seeing Asmund as she came up beside Judd and Asmund looked at her and chuckled nervously as he walked up to them, "Big date?"
"I...yeah." he said nervously and Judd slightly lowered his eyes hearing that Asmund was going on a date, "Peter is taking me out again tonight."
"Oh, so it's not your first date?" Marjan asked surprised and grinning slyly and Asmund smiled as Judd shifted in his seat feeling irked but not sure why.
Judd knew that Asmund had his own life and he wasn't in control of that life whatsoever, but it still bothered him for some reason and it bugged him that he didn't know exactly why it bugged him though he was happy that Asmund was happy. Asmund's phone chimed and he looked at his phone to see that it was a text from Peter.
Hey, rain check? Peter texted, Got an employee that's sick and I need to cover her shift.
I understand. Asmund texted back, Have a good shift.
He sighed as he turned his phone screen off and put the phone back into his pocket.
"Everything okay?" Judd asked concerned and Asmund shrugged.
"Date is canceled." Asmund told them as he took off his suit jacket and placed it on a chair before rolling up his sleeves and heading to grab a cup of coffee, "Second one in a row too...but he is a lead manager at the bar so he has to cover any sick employees."
Judd's watch beeped and he looked at to see that his overnight shift was over and he got up to wash his cup.
"I am off shift now." he said as Tommy came down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Hey Asmund." she said and they looked at her, "Any chance you can pick up a shift now? Tim had a family emergency."
"Oh yeah, sure." Asmund replied as he finished his coffee and he smiled at Judd, "See you later?"
"Of course." Judd said grinning and Asmund left to go change into his EMT uniform as Judd looked after him, grin fading as something bugged him at the back of his mind, "See you later, guys."
He left and got into his truck, starting it up and heading to the bar to see if his hunch was right. He got out of his truck and went inside, looking around at the crowd, and saw Peter sitting at a table with Tim. Judd's eyes slanted in anger as he saw them holding hands together and laughing at each other's jokes and Judd clenched his fists in rage as he walked over to the men and Tim's eyes widened in fear as he saw Judd approaching them.
"J...Judd." Tim stammered nervously and Judd glared at him fiercely causing Tim to shut up and looked down shamefully.
"So...you're not at work." Judd said turning to Peter who looked at Judd confused.
"I'm sorry...who are you?" Peter asked.
"I'm Asmund's friend." Judd answered and Peter gulped visibly as his face turned white, "Yeah, you know...the guy you've been dating and recently called off two dates with him? I'm assuming that you and our buddy, Tim here, have been seeing each other for a while now."
Judd clamped a hand on Tim's shoulder tightly and squeezed, causing Tim to wince in pain as he squirmed slightly under Judd's hold.
"Now here's what we're going to do." Judd said in a low deadly tone, "Peter, you're going to tell Asmund that you are not going to see him anymore and then you're not going to talk to Asmund ever again...you stay away from him, you understand?"
Peter nodded shakily and Judd turned to Tim who shook in fear, feeling the rage radiating off of Judd.
"You are not mentioning your involvement to Asmund cus dammit Tim as much as I hate to admit this right now, you're a good EMT officer and station needs your help." Judd said tightening his hold, "But you shall treat Asmund with respect from now on, got it? Otherwise, he shall find out about this little thing you have going on with Peter. You got me?"
"Y...yes, Judd." Tim replied shakily.
"You two don't see each other again either." Judd warned and he let go of Tim, "Let's go, Tim."
Tim scrambled up and grabbed his jacket before rushing out of the bar and out of sight while Judd looked at Peter one last time.
"Asmund is an amazing, caring, kind, and wonderful man." Judd told the bartender, "You took advantage of that and broke him now. He doesn't deserve a scum so it may be best to leave town for a while, understand?"
Peter nodded in understanding and Judd let out an angry huff before leaving the bar and heading home.
