A week after Asmund's accident; Judd was sitting in a large meeting room dressed in a button-up white shirt and black pants and he had his arm propped up on the chair's arms and leaning his face on it as he thought back on Asmund and hoped he was doing alright.
"Mr. Ryder?" a woman asked across from him and he looked up to see two ladies sitting across from him, "We need the signature."
Judd looked down at the divorce papers in front of him and slanted his eyes in anger before looking up at the woman sitting on the right. The dark-skinned woman had curly long brown hair and brown eyes and wore a red dress as the woman on the left wore a black blouse and skirt and had short blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Judd..." a man said to his left and he turned to his lawyer, "Look over the papers and make sure everything is in order."
Judd sighed as he scanned over the papers, making sure he kept the house and his belongings, and then picked up a pen to sign but hesitated.
"Are you sure that we can't work this out, Grace?" he asked looking up at the woman on the right.
"Just sign the papers, Judd." Grace answered shifting in her seat and Judd lowered his eyes sadly before signing the papers and sliding them over just as his phone chimed and he picked it up to see that he had a text.
Hey, I have to go to an emergency with my Dad at the station the text read as it was from TK with an address, Do you mind picking up Asmund at his appointment?
"Are we done here?" Judd asked looking up at both women.
"Yes..." Grace's lawyer started to say when Judd got up quickly and left the room before anyone could collect themselves.
Judd started heading down the halls towards the exit when he heard the door behind him open.
"Judd!" Grace called out and Judd groaned as he stopped and turned to her.
"What do you want now, Grace?" he asked spreading out his hands, "You've got what you wanted...you're not tied to me anymore."
"You think that this is what I wanted?" Grace questioned confused and looking hurt, "Judd, you focused on your job more than me in our marriage."
"I was bringing in the money to keep a roof over our heads." Judd said, "Yeah I worked a lot, but that was to help the both of us. Now you didn't want to try and work things out, so you can stay away from me now."
He shook his head as he turned and left the building and walked to his truck, hopping in and starting to drive to the address that TK had sent him. Judd drove in frustration as he was hurt that Grace had him finalize the divorce pretty quickly without trying to work things out, but knew that things would probably get worse if they tried to work it out and soon he arrived at the address where he was to pick up Asmund, but the young man hadn't come out of the building yet so Judd waited in the truck for him. Twenty minutes went by as Judd sat in the truck and he drummed his fingers along his steering wheel as he listened to country music on his radio until he looked up and stared in awe as he saw Asmund coming out, dressed button up red shirt and jeans with boots, and Judd blushed as he found Asmund looking very attractive in the outfit and his heart started beating fast while his body started feeling warm. Judd shook his head, calming himself down, and got out of the truck as Asmund looked around confused and Judd moved to the passenger side of the truck and took in a deep breath before leaning on his truck and putting on his best smirk.
"Hey, stranger." He called out to Asmund who turned towards him surprised to see him there.
"Judd, what are you doing here?" Asmund asked confused.
"Your brother texted me saying that there was an emergency at the station with your Dad." Judd explained as Asmund came up to him, "You hungry?"
"Yeah, I can go for a good meal somewhere." Asmund said smiling at Judd who grinned at him.
"Well hop on in." Judd told him, "I know a great bar-b-q place that you'll love."
Asmund chuckled as he moved around the truck and got in the passenger seat and strapped himself in as Judd got in the front seat. Judd noticed Asmund freezing in place and Judd looked at the man, who started fidgeting with his hands and closed his eyes, counting silently. Judd's heart broke as he saw Asmund seeming to try and ground himself and he thought to himself on how he could help, deciding to reach out and grab Asmund's hand into his and held it tightly. Asmund opened his eyes and looked over at Judd, eyes shaking slightly, and Judd smiled softly at him.
"You're okay now, Asmund." Judd told him trying to console him, "You're safe."
"Thanks, Judd." Asmund said as he seemed to have collected himself, "So...great bar-b-q place huh?"
"Oh yeah, the best." Judd replied with a dorky grin as he started the truck, "You'll never want another place to serve you bar-b-q."
Asmund chuckled as he leaned back in his seat comfortably as Judd started driving and he started bragging to Asmund about the restaurant that they were going to.
