Josuke Higashikata i (pocky day!)

Everything went surprisingly well! Seems like you're favorable of lady luck today. The teachers didn't announce any quizzes or assignments, you got a perfect mark in math, gotten free food from the cafeteria, it's the last day of the week meaning no school tomorrow too, and lastly you got a gift from a friend! At least you think it's from a friend? It was wrapped in a blank piece of paper, taped together messily. After inspecting the odd rectangle-shaped present on your table, you opened it gently.

While gently tearing the tape, you notice scribbles on the inner side of the paper but not only that, you also noticed... inside laid your favorite pocky flavor!

Unwrapping the paper from the box, you placed the pocky down on the table and read the note wrapper. Weirdly, it's in two different handwritings? Most likely it was from two persons. A gift from a couple of friends, perhaps?

"Oh... Oh!" You don't know whether to be thankful by the free pocky or nervous since Josuke is on his way and it would be just the two of you in the classroom. Unprepared to see him, you scrambled to grab all your school items and stuffed them in your bag in a hurry as well as crumpling the note more.

The moment you turned around to make your great escape, you bumped into someone's soft chest. "Gah!" "Ah!" Both of you let out a surprised squeak and you stumble back on the chair, bag on your lap while the other person was unaffected. "I didn't mean to get too close! I thought you realized I was behind you-! Hey... Are you good? You look like you've seen a ghost." Shaking your head sideways, you held in the blush threatening to show. He was towering over you, checking your face if you had hurt yourself.

"Well, glad you're okay. And by the way, Okuyasu and Koichi told me you needed my help with something?" 'Curse those two loveable idiots!' "Oh uhm...." Trailing off and mumbling incoherent words, he watches you become a mess. 'WhatdoIdoWhatdoIdoWhatdoIdo-' Too busy internal panicking, you failed to notice Josuke grab the Pocky from the table. He shook the box first, making sure it had the contents before asking your permission to open it. "I love this flavor, one of my favorites! Do you mind if I open it?" Surprised by the sudden question, you look back at him still panicking. "No- sure?-" He raises one of his sharp brows at you in suspicion but shrugs it away. He tears the upper side of the box and placed it back to your table then he grabs the wrapper-filled pocky and opens it.

"Oh hey! Wasn't there a game with pocky?" He grabs one piece holding it in his hand while trying to remember. "Yeah..." He offers the single piece of pocky to you. "I don't remember it... Mayyybeee you can show it to me? If you don't mind of course." Huh. "Sure." Grabbing the pocky, both of your hands brushed against each other. "Uh... So..." You place the treat in front of your lips as you go through how to play the pocky game. "The... objective of the game is to be the first person to reach the center without breaking or dropping the stick." He nods excitedly and eager almost as if knows what's gonna happen.

'... Maybe he was the one who planned this! Wait wait... I shouldn't get ahead of myself...'

"Alright... Follow me." You inserted the end into your mouth, waiting for him to follow suit. "Em thenm chou tamke small nibbwels." You hoped he understood what you said. Slowly, you nibbled and he follows, although he is taking larger nibbles. Feeling your cheeks heat up you advert your eyes and stop, not leaving your lips on the pocky.

Josuke didn't stop and continued past the middle point. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see him still going, and then...

Chu!

He gives you a short sweet kiss on the lips and took the pocky out of your mouth. And he didn't even look flustered about it! Only a small tint of pink was visible on his cheeks. "These sure are tasty! Do you wanna try it again since you lost?" He bashfully grins while you try and compute what he just said. "A-again?!" You jolt back in surprise at his offer. 'Now this is very suspicious!... Maybe there's hope!' "Did I make you uncomfortable? I'm sor-" Wildly shaking your hands and your head, you grab the pocky from him.

"I don't mind but... There's something I need to say first...?" Josuke tilts his head, his pompadour bouncing. He does a little hand motion to urge you to go on. "I..." 'Here it comes... No backing out now...' Fiddling with the packet, you mumble. "I actually have a crush on you... I've had it ever since you saved me from a stand user..." You raise the packet to your face, hiding your blush but also muffling your words.

Josuke laughs and beams at you. "You're literally the cutest person I've ever seen." He grabs your hands in his. His blush becomes much more prominent. "Actually... I planned this whole thing...—" 'aha!' "Soooo... Will you be my significant other?" You smirk and remove your hands in his, grabbing a pocky stick. Gently placing it against his lips, you winked at him with your newfound confidence.

"Let's do the pocky game and see."
