Chapter 1 💙Maddie's POV💙 I dropped a couple more apples into the basket then jumped down. I landed firmly on the ground beside the basket. Grabbing its worn handle I heaved it down the hill. I set it down next to the others and was greeted by Paige. I had been here for two months and loved it. She tossed me a pear. I bit into the sweet fruit and the juice dribbled down my chin. "Two baskets," I said proudly. She gave me a thumbs up and started eating her pear. I finished my fruit and stood up. Paige and I raced to the stables and grabbed saddles. We climbed onto our horses and road down the trail. We hadn't done this in two months. Paige had been thrown from her horse and I brought her back. We took it slowly this time, soaking in the sunlight. For the first week here all i wanted was to go home. You see, I'm a princess. I don't know what's happened to my country, castle and most importantly my family. But this farm has become my home. Paige is like my sister. I love working on the farm. I used to anticipate going back, now I dreaded it. I wanted to stay here. Of course I wished to see my parents again but I didn't want to leave here. We stopped at the old bridge and let the horses eat some of the grass. Me and Paige rolled up our jeans and dipped our feet in the cool river. The water raced along splashing up against the bank. Needless to say i just wasn't the same anymore. || Super tired do end of blast! More
