Huffing out a sigh, she finished sharpening her axe with a stone, throwing the rock away and standing up from the stump she's been sitting on for a while by now.

She stretched her limbs, dissolving the soreness in her muscles, before stuffing the axe in it's case and slung it over her shoulder, double checking if it was arranged right.

The arrows in their quiver rustled a little at the movement, as she reattached the sheathed sword that hung loosely on the leather belt, that hugged her hips.

The girl scanned her surroundings a moment after, spotting no signs of danger in the flora around her.

Then, the high pitched whistle like noise rang through the entire forest, piercing through the tranquil atmosphere.

But she knew who it was.

The familiar flap of wings only confirmed it further.

The second later, the eagle emerged from the sky, flying down, straight at her, who was standing in the clearing.

The girl extended her arm for it and the eagle landed gently on her upper arm, near her shoulder.

"Hey Aren."

She smiled fondly, not even wishing to fight the smile off as she scratched the head of the eagle gently.

Aren - English/Spanish name, meaning 'the eagle ruler' or 'mighty enlightened mountain'. It fit perfectly for him.

Philza himself helped to name the little Golden eaglet fallen from it's nest in the mountains, on the verge of death several years ago.

She remembered how the eaglet put up a fight when she was bringing him home to treat him properly, because his right leg was bleeding. Probably a fall injury.

He used to shy away from her when she fed him.

But then, as the time passed, he showed incredible interest and friendliness to her.

Then, when he was finally recovered, his leg bothered him no more, he was taught how to fly, once again with Philza's assistance.

It was time for him to go back to his natural habitat and he did go back.

But returned after three days.

He got too attached to her, she tamed him, of course, he saw her as his master now.

The girl constructed her house in an open field, right next to the forest that ended with the same exact mountain.

"Oh? You have something for me?"

She saw a piece of rolled up paper attached to Aren's left leg, just above his foot.

Using her free hand, she unattached the paper from his leg and Aren climbed up to her shoulder, so she could use her second hand now.

She unfolded the paper and revealed what was written inside.

'Hey Y/n, hope you're doing alright. I have some news for you. Dream said that he'd like to meet up with you if you have free time. I don't know what exactly he wants because he never told me even when I asked. Anyway, write me your response as soon as possible, would love to hear more from you.'
