We were all dressed and ready to go to Chase's party a few hours later. Sarah spent about an hour on my hair, making sure each curl was in the perfect position, which only made me grumble because my neck started to hurt in the weird positions she was putting it in.

My nerves are starting to get the best of me; I never texted Chase back, and he never texted me again, but I know he's probably hanging out with his friends, but that doesn't help my nerves right now.

"Raven, I can see the gears turning in your head; everything will be fine." Kim murmurs as she wraps her arms around my shoulders, causing Sarah to complain about her messing up my hair.

"Sarah, you just sprayed an entire can of hair spray in her hair, I don't think hugging her will mess it up." Kim groans, but moves her arms away from my shoulder and away from my hair.

"It wasn't a whole can," Sarah grumbles as she admires her handy work.

"Perfect." She smiles and begins putting away the hair shit she brought over in her book bag, which I had no idea about until an hour ago.

We arrived at Chase's house 30 minutes later; I knew his family was wealthy, but I had no idea how wealthy they were. We literally had to pass through a gate to park and the house was the size of a freaking mainson. The drive way was lined with trees, all of which were lit up in white lights. It was incredible.

"Macy's car is here," Kim points out as she kills her car at the end of the long driveway in the grass. A lot of people are here already.

"Great. She's probably been all over Chase "I grumble as I feel the birthday card becoming heavy in my purse; perhaps I shouldn't give it to him.

"He's probably been pushing her away from him, Rav." Sarah reassures me, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

"He probably kissed her," I can't stop the broken whine from coming out of my mouth.

Raven, you need to get a grip on yourself!

"You don't know that. Send him a text" Kim gives the order, and I don't want to take my phone out of my bag to comply.

If I texted him, it would be embarrassing if he did not respond.

"No, what if he doesn't text back!"

"We will make you a deal. Text him and if he doesn't text you back we will go to the movie store and watch whatever horror movie you want" Sarah holds out here pinkie letting me know she is dead serious.

We have never broken a pinkie promise to each other.

"Fine" I quickly wrap my pinkie around hers before digging my phone out my bag, turning it on I see I have the unanswered texts. Oh crap, I must have put it on silent.

6:15pm
Chase - I'm sorry. I'm not mad at you
Raven, I just don't want you to think Macy and I have anything going on.

7:05pm
Chase - Answer me.

8:25pm
Chase - Please come to my party Raven.

"Oh shit, guys. He texted me 3 times. I must have accidentally put my phone on silent" I mumble out biting my bottom lip.

"When was his last message?" Kim asked

"See. Even if Macy was here, he was thinking about you. Text him so we can start parting" Whines Sarah with a pleading look on her face.

"Alright, party girl" I say. Sarah has like a different personality when she starts drinking, she can get wild as a hog in the mud.

Me- I'm sorry. Phone was on silent. We just parked in front of your house.

We all wait a few minutes before my phone dings letting me know I just got a new text message and I can't help but hold my breath as I open it.

Chase - What are you waiting for baby. Come inside. 🥰

I quickly show the text to Kim and Sarah and they start rushing out the car, pulling me along with down the long drive way, giggling the hole way up onto Chase's front porch.

"Yall need to calm down" I mumble trying to tame down my own excitement over that heart emoji that he added to his text to me.

"Hell nah, tonight is our girl's night! " whoops Kim as she pushes the door open and my lungs feel like they are struggling to flate up as I see Chase walking towards the door, smiling when he sees me walking in.

"We will catch ya in a bit. You and him need to talk" Whispered Sarah as she pulls Kim away ignoring her protests. Kim probably wanted to make sure I was okay before walking away but by the smile on his face I think I will be okay.

"Finally, you made it" he smiles down at me, putting his red cup down on a side table.

"Yeah I wouldn't miss your party, oh by the way I have something for you" I stammer out as I quickly pull the card out my purse and thrust it nervously towards him. "It's not much but I wanted to bring you something" I mumbed feeling my cheeks start to warm up as I blush a little bit embarrassed.

His eyes widen as he takes the card from my shaky hands and he opens it slowly scanning his eyes over the card. "Thank you, this means a lot to me. This is the only gift I received tonight" he whispered, pulling me into his arms and hugging me tightly, causing the air to get stuck in my throat as shock rocks through me.

Chase is hugging me.

The same Chase that I had a crush on for years is hugging me. Oh sweet baby Jesus. Is this really happening?

"Y-your welcome Chase" I whisper wrapping my arms around his back slowly hoping he doesn't pull away as I hug him back but he doesn't pull away instead, his face lights up in the most gorgeous smile I have ever seen and it's all for me.
