The next evening we are headed to Marks house for the Halloween party, Sarah, Kim and I are all dressed as detectives. We are all wearing black slack pants with black jackets with different color shirts, mines light blue. We had gone to the Halloween store and picked up some fake handcuffs and cop badges making our costumes look real.
Chase has been blowing up my phone since yesterday and I have not even been looking at his messages. I need to make him see that I am serious about us not being together unless he sticks with taking his medicine. I can't do it anymore, I can't lie anymore and I can't freaking hide all the marks he has been leaving on my body.
Enough is enough.
I have not told Kim, Sarah and my parents about me and Chase breaking up because I have hope that he will get back on it to be with me again because he loves me and I love him and I want him to be okay.
We got to Marks a few minutes later, hearing the students already having a blast as the smell of beer hits my nose making me gag softly.
I can't stand beer.
The taste.
The smell.
It's disgusting.
I miss Chase, my hands shake with need to answer his messages and calls but I refused to give in, I stayed strong telling myself that I'm doing the best for him and I both, for our relationship.
"I'm ready to get drunk." Sarah sang out, as we walked up the house steps.
"Just take it slow. Don't go to a room with anybody. Watch your drinks-" Kim started lecturing us and slapped Sarah's hand away when she went to open the door.
"Hey!" Sarah complained, bringing her other hand up and she rubbed the top of the hand that Kim had just popped.
"Listen first!" Kim hissed out, blocking the doorway.
"We know the rules, Kim." I sighed, pushing her gently out of the way. I'm ready to get drunk my damn self. I need to keep my mind off of Chase as my phone weighing heavy in my purse.
"Fine. I don't want to have to search for yalls drunk asses." Kim grumbled, moving out of the way. That is a dang lie, she so would come find us if she needed too.
We head into the house and I immediately spotted Chase, wobbling on drunk legs as he talks with Mark and Brad.
"Look, Chase is over there." Sarah chirped out before walking away, heading straight to the drink table.
"I'm spending time with yall." I tell them softly, as Kim and I follow Sarah. I really just need a drink. I have to distract myself, I feel Chase's eyes digging into my skin and I have to force myself not to look at him.
"It's for the best Raven." I whispered to myself softly, making sure nobody heard me.
Hours later we were in the middle of the room dancing away, Kim stayed sober and Sarah and I were both blastered to the max. She agreed that since last time I stayed sober it would be her time and I was not going to argue about that, not after what I had to do with Chase.
He has yet to try to come to talk to me and I know his upset about me breaking up with him, I just hope that he realized that what I did, I did out of love for him. I was watching him getting darker and darker and I needed to do something. My body could not take him getting angry anymore. I'm covered in marks, still having to wear a damn scarf around my neck that looks ridiculous with my detective outfit.
"Raven." I hear Chase calling out to me and I close my eyes tightly trying not to give in but he comes up behind me, wrapping his hands tight around my waist and pulls me against his stomach. "I'm sorry, baby." He whispered into my ear before kissing the spot, right under it.
