The drive to the secret location was nerve wracking. I didn’t know if Harry would like my surprise and just thinking of his reaction was causing knots in my stomach. Looking at him from the corner of my eye I noticed he was fidgeting and breathing in heavily. “Harry?” He looked at me and clenched his eyes shut. I pulled over and got out the notepad and handed it to him. As he wrote to me his hand was shaking and my heart was pounding.

I’m nervous

Why?

Last time someone said they had a surprise for me I was beaten up and thrown into a rubbish bin

My eyes locked with him as I took him into my arms. “I’d never do that to you,” I whispered.

Pulling away I saw him faintly nod.

I smiled and we were back on route to the surprise I was really hoping he’d like…

As we got closer to the location, I saw a long line up of people coming round the corner of the street. I looked over at Harry and his expression told me saw the large crowd, “Good God” I said pulling into the car park.

Harry passed me a note.

Will you please tell me why were here now?

I looked up at him and he was making the cutest puppy dog face. How could I say no to that… “Fine,” I sighed. He perked up and a huge smile came across his gorgeous face. “Well you remember how we were listening to The Script in the car the other day?” I asked and he nodded. “Well I promised you I’d take you to a concert one day and they happen to be playing at this underground music hall today. My friend Stan works there and said he had extra tickets and asked if I wanted them.” I pulled the tickets from my trousers. “So you wanna go?”

Harry was still and then grinned. He launched himself at me and tightly squeezed my body against his.

‘Thank you’ he mouthed.

“You’re welcome,” I said.

We left my car and walked to the venue. We passed the long line of people waiting and I noticed that a lot of the girls were staring at the beautiful boy beside me. I looked at him and he was totally oblivious to it, but I felt strangely angry. I felt a protective impulse take over and I reached for his hand, taking it into mine.

I had already acted before I had realized what I had just done. After the initial shock I noticed that Harry hadn’t fended me off but rather held onto me. I looked back at those girls and saw them frown. Yeah bitches that’s right, I thought to myself as we neared the entrance to the building.

“Stan!” I shouted when I saw him standing at the door to the building.

He waved as Harry and I approached. “Hey Lou, and you must be Harry?” he said giving me a quick hug.

“Yeah this is Harry,” I smiled. “And Harry this is my bud Stan, we go way back.” Stan smiled at him and Harry looked at him rather uncomfortably. I felt a hand tighten around mine and noticed that Harry was still gripping my hand into his.

I saw the look on Stan’s face when he realized that we were holding hands. Of course Stan knew I was gay but I hadn’t mentioned Harry to him. Well firstly because I didn’t know what to say seeing as we weren’t in a relationship exactly. Plus the fact that Harry was the first guy in a long time who I was legitimately interested in and I was a little unsure of what I wanted.

“So Lou I have your tickets just come with me.” Stan said as he motioned for us to follow him.

We walked through the crowd of people already in the building and past security. We entered into the staff lounge, “Are we allowed back here?” I asked out of curiosity.
