It was a week before Christmas when I when I found out I would be spending it alone. Mum and the girls were spending it on a cruise and me being a student, I couldn't go. My father and his family invited me to go to theirs but I wasn't about to intrude on their Christmas. Plus even if I did go I knew I’d feel awkward.

Now the obvious option then was to spend the holidays with my Irish flatmate Niall, but as chances would have it he was going back to Ireland. So there all options crossed out. It was officially going to be the most depressing Christmas I'd ever had.

I heard my phone vibrate and I reached into my pocket and fished around. When I pulled it out I saw it was a text from Harry.

Hey Lou. Um do you want to work on out festival piece at mine? - Harry :>

I smiled to myself. Even while texting him he was still so awkward.

Sure I'll be there in 10 :) - Louis xx

I walked into my room and grabbed my favourite Christmas jumper and threw it on. I loved this time of year. Spending time with friends and family and of course all of the food. I smiled at the thought and then realized that this year would be different. The time I usually spend with mum and the girls would be spent alone.

Snapping myself out of my trance I walked into the washroom and ran my fingers through my fringe until it looked acceptable. I shut off all of the lights and then made my way to the door.

When I made it to my car I checked my phone for any messages. Seeing nothing I made the familiar journey to Harry's. Feeling as it was too silent I turned on the radio and within seconds I turned it off. I love all types of music but one genre I couldn't handle was rap, I'm sorry to those of you who idolize it but it just isn't my cup of tea.

Pulling up to Harry's I sent him a quick message telling him I was here. I looked up at his bedroom window and was surprised to find him there smiling down at me. I felt my heart race, the way his whole face lit up when he smiled was.... incredible. That was the only word that I could thing of that would do him justice.

I locked up the car and then practically skipped my way to the door of his house. Before I even knocked the door opened to reveal Anne. "Louis! How are you? Harry's just in his room, go on up."

"Thanks," I said moving past her. As I walked upstairs I could tell Anne was watching me and I saw a soft facial expression on her out of the corner of my eye. Even though it was comforting I couldn't help but feel a little confused.

Reaching the top of the stairs I felt my stomach doing flips as I saw him. His gaze was on a book that rested on his lap and his luscious curls cascaded down covering his eyes. "Hey Haz," I said walking into his room.

He lifted his sights to me and smiled. 'Hey Lou' he signed.

'So what did you wanna work on?' I asked sitting next to him on his large bed.

He pointed to a large canvas in the corner of his room. Beside it were a camera that looked quite expensive and a painting pallet. 'We could go to the lake and start on the sketch.'

I nodded. "Do you know where to go?" This whole lake thing was Harry's idea, I had no clue where it was or how to get there.

'Yeah Gemma, mum and I used to go a lot for picnics and stuff when we were kids.'

I smiled inwardly at the thought of Harry as a kid. He was probably even cuter then he was now if that was even possible. 'So let's pack everything into the car then.'
