I look back at the man standing in front of me. I was exhausted by the long walk we had.

"Mr Wei, this is Zhao Yunlan. He is chief forest Ranger. You can call him chief"

That man just looks at me non stop. I was feeling faint. My heartbeat was beating rapidly. Before I could guess what was going on I fall backwards and my mind goes blank.

Yunlan's POV :

"Chief, this is our new substitute teacher Mr Shen wei"

This man looked familiar to me. As I was contemplating on where I saw him, he immediately fell backwards and my body moved by itself. Before he could fall on the ground I held him close to my chest. Our faces were so close that my heart skipped a beat. I don't know why but he feels so familiar, as if I know him from long back.

"Oye, Mr Wei!"

I woke up to a dim light coming out of a lantern hung on the roof. I was sleeping on a mattress on the ground. The house I was in was actually a hut made out of bamboo sticks. What she wrote in her book was right. I get up and lean on the wall. I see someone leaning on the window and recognize him as the man I met before.

"Mister?"

He turns around and looks at me. "My name is Zhao Yunlan. But you should call me chief. You seem too delicate. If you cannot live here tell me. I'll find someone to take you out of here."

"Thank you for your concern. But, I'm good here and I won't leave anytime soon. By the way my name is Wei, if you want to know me chief"

"This house is for the volunteer teacher. There is no electricity at night, no phone signals. Are you sure you can live here?"

"If other's can live here, why can't I?"

"Fine" he smirks and leaves me alone.

"What's with his stern face!"

I pick up the lamp to give a brighter light but it falls down from my hand and fire catches the ground.

"Oh my god, Help! Help! Help!"

Yunlan runs inside grabbing a bucket of water and splashes it on the ground. But half of the water splashes on my face and shirt.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Helping you"

"Now the bed is also wet. How will I sleep now?"

"You may choose not to sleep. But Tomorrow your class begins at 8:00 AM. Don't be late"

As I was cursing at him he turns around and walks away not before smirking mischievously at me.

I wake up the next morning after a good sleep. I needed to freshen up so I grab my towel, clothes and walk out of the cabin. I find Yunlan sitting on my cabin porch.

"Oh chief!"

"I came here to pick you up for school"

"Chief, I haven't registered for the substitute teacher yet. Also, I haven't had a bath. Do you know where I can have a bath?"

Yunlan just smirks and walks away. "Hey chief, wait up".....I follow to wherever he goes and to my horror he takes me to school. I was wearing a baggy shirt and baggy pant with a towel hanging from my shoulder, not fit for a teacher image and this asshole bought me to school when I haven't even freshened up.

"Kids, this is your new teacher."

I look around the classroom and find 5 kids seated like a sitting ducks. Yunlan walks away after telling them I am the teacher leaving me alone with the little devils. The kids must be around 10 year old. One of the kid, raises her hand and says.
