CHAPTER 5

Here's chapter 5 guys....... Idk what else to say hehe lol. This is awkward. I mean totally awkward random.

"Okay students, I shall be passing your papers so that you can check your marks and see where you went wrong and yes, don't forget to check your totalling. I'm a human so I can go wrong." Said Ms. Parkers, the English teacher. The entire class replied with a boring 'yes' in unison.

"I'm so scared." Taylor said. "It's fine Tay, you'll definitely be the one. Number 1. Just relax." Taylor really liked her boyfriend a lot. Who wouldn't because Harry was truly a boyfriend material and with years passing by, he might even become husband material.

Harry got his paper first, followed by Ed. To his surprise Harry missed out on two marks but was two ahead Ed. Taylor started to chew on her nails out of nervousness because her paper could come anytime. Harry understood the situation and started to calm Taylor down. When Taylor got her paper, she realized she scored less than Harry but ore than Ed.

"Ha! This time too Ed." Taylor said with amusement. She never had scored less than Ed, never. Harry wondered how this girl never let Ed score more than her when Ed is also an intelligent fella. He thought what could be his girl's strategies that keep her on the always. But what could be done now? They've got their scores and nothing can change these results now. When the aggregates were calculated, apparently, out of nowhere, the new boy in the class was the most studious. Harry was on the top, followed by Taylor, then Ed. Although Ed was happy for his friends to have reserved a place at the top, someone wasn't that happy. No mistakes here, Taylor loved Harry a lot. She never missed a chance where she could talk about him anywhere, but seeing someone on the top position that had belonged to her for years wasn't very pleasing to her. Ed somewhat knew that this might bring a tiny bit of drama between the two new lovebirds but thought to let it slide.

A few days passed by and Louis finally thought he should give a shock of absolute happiness to his family and see them pinch themselves a thousand times because clearly nobody will believe the fact that Louis in fact has landed his name in the smart kids list. Yes, he did. All the hardwork finally paid off. Zayn was probably the happiest person on Earth and was above cloud nine because he never thought he could get on to the nerdy side of the world which he believed was boring as hell. He never thought he had a nerd inside him and what fascinated him the most was the fact that his gangster cousin had initiated the study sessions that gave them this victory.

Louis and Zayn rushed back home. Since they both are cousins, they live in the adjacent blocks and today, both their mums were to meet up at Louis' house which was the location the two boys had fixed to blow this happy bubble to their mothers and have them question their lives. "Mum, we're back and guess what ladies!" Louis sang while entering the living room and sending his bag flying and almost chucking it out of the window. "I don't care what but you are requested to go and keep your bag where it is supposed to be and change your nasty clothes. Then you say whatever you have to." Annoyed. Who wouldn't be, especially when you are told all of this in front of your siblings and of course, your hot cousin and his mama. All this while Zayn didn't know what to do or say, so when Louis went upstairs to change and come, he came in and waved to his favourite, Aunt Jay. "Well hello there handsome. Come here and give me a hug." Jay said and welcomed Zayn with a warm hug. "Thank you Jay. I love you so much, I missed you a lot." "Yeah Zaynie, we haven't met after your friendly match. What would you like to have dear?" "Didn't ask me this question Jay! I'm seated here for the past two hours." said Trisha, Zayn's mum playfully. "Before anyone eats anything, we have some news for you guys." Louis came down the stairs dramatically. 

"Whose nose did you break this time? When is the meeting with your principal because clearly, you can't stay from being a menace huh Tomlinson?" Louis didn't like the way everyone thought he was going to confess that he's in trouble when he said anything. "Okay, firstly that was rude and secondly, that was a very stereotypical statement because Louis William Tomlinson is bound to changes along with his hot cousin Zayn Javadd Malik. "Okay drama queen. What is it then?" "I don't believe in dragging things so, Mrs. Tomlinson, I'm more than glad to tell you that your son has infact landed his name in the top ten students list. His hot cousin is in there too." It is safe to say that maybe everyone went into coma for a minute, except for one person who couldn't take the constant reference he was given and finally, after finishing his juice, Zayn finally spoke up, "why do you keep saying that, it's annoying at the same time I feel like I'm slowly turning into a tomato because I've blushed like 12455896265478 times so far." to which, Louis replied dramatically, "so you mean you aren't my Hoottt Cousinnn anymore?" with puppy eyes. "Stop it Tommo. Doesn't suit your personality." Louis nodded.

The boys left their mothers to end the silence and finally digest the fact that their sons who never took academics seriously are now turning into nerds. Meanwhile they played some games and Xbox and took some breaks and discussed about, well, the curly boy, who somewhat wasn't getting out of Louis' mind and nobody knows why.  He just lets that slip and moves on. He doesn't want to get into this deeply at the moment as he is still in this haze of becoming the unexpected sincere, intelligent, very knowledgeable person and so is Zayn that both actually put their very secret plan in hold.

***At School***

It still remains a mystery to everyone how Harry broke Taylor's record of being number one always. What surprises people more is how things are still peaceful between Harry and Taylor. Though Taylor does let things pass over time, her initial reaction is actually a scary one. Now what can she do? She's used to being the best student that she wouldn't have imagined a day when another student, a certain curly haired, green-eyed boy, in fact her own boyfriend would surpass her and push her to number two. To be fair, she doesn't mind being number two or even the last, but she is programmed by her household, especially her parents in a way that she should be at the top no matter what. The only normal person in the Swift house who hasn't started to fall for formula is Austin Swift, Taylor's younger brother. It is a generalized opinion that boys don't actually worry about their academic performance and that's how Austin is too. He is in the school football team and happens to fangirl over the next possible captain, one of the best players of the team besides Austin himself, Mr. Louis 'the best' Tomlinson.

What people do not know is there's already a little tension that has developed between Harry and Taylor and Ed knows this is not okay but what is he supposed to do? Demolish the wall of privacy of his friends as a couple and share his opinions which obviously would not be appreciated at every situation. It is just that they don't show it out because currently, they are the sweet couple who are goals for all their juniors. This place was once held by, you guessed it, Louis and Eleanor before Louis decided to casually decided to burst the blissful bubble that El was floating in and had so many plans with her boy. That was really a bad way to breakup, atleast that's what everyone thinks. Why would someone breakup with the girl with whom they had a steamy makeout session last night? Things do not work logically at times in this story but they do get intensified as we move ahead.

"Harry mate, it's been two weeks since you and Tay had a normal conversation." said Ed to Harry, in a worried manner. "I know, but what am I supposed to do? I don't know why she feels like getting a setback once would destroy her whole life? Honestly, these school grades have no part in your life if you work with a genuine dream and desire with equal proportion of passion. Anyways, I'm ready for her to come to me one fine morning and say she's breaking up with me. It seems like people in this school choose a very small and casual reason and method to breakup that very day when that Louis guy broke up with his girlfriend. Speaking of which, I've been hearing things that this guy is changing. I mean, he's pretty well mannered in the class, minding his own business, and his cousin too, Zayn. Huh. That's surprising." Harry finished his mini rant. "I know right. They've been very polite to people nowadays. Doesn't suit those cousins. But who knows they might be plotting something undercover." "Yeah, let's go grab some coffee maybe?" "Cool, let's go and we'll call Liam and Niall as well."

I know what you guys are thinking and I agree. An update after a couple of years? That's crazy!

I started this story as an 18 year old, about to turn 19 and here I am, posting an update as a 21 year old who'll be 22 by the end of the year.

I apologise guys. There's a lot going on and trust me I'm fine. I've evolved a lot, grown up and matured and I'm proud of myself for that.

This time I'll update regularly.
