“What do you usually wear to these things?” I ask Eleanor over the phone as I sifted through my closet.

“Jeans and a cute blouse,” she told me.

“So, you never told me who was coming tonight."

“It’s different each time. I invite about 30 people from our school and we watch it in my movie room. Last time almost 20 people came. So, we’ll see. Be here early though! I want you to help set up and meet Danielle!”

*Evening of the movie night*

“Hi Danielle, I’m Raleigh,” I say as I shake the gorgeous curly haired girl’s hand.

“It’s nice to meet you! Eleanor has told me so much about you. I don’t know if she has told you, but I’m the ‘older’ girl that Liam dates.”

 “I’m sorry…I don’t think I’ve met a Liam yet.”

“He’s in your grade, a senior. I’m sure you’ll meet him sometime. He’s a sweetheart—friends with lots of people.”

“Oh nice.  Is he coming tonight?”

“No, he can’t make it. He has a family dinner to go to or something…I’m sorry, but I just love your hair,” she says as she runs her fingers through my brown hair. “It’s so long and smooth.”

“Thanks,” I laugh. These girls were so kind to me. It was really refreshing.

“Oh, um, Raleigh? I think Kelsey is coming tonight…is that all right?” Eleanor asks me.

“Uh, sure. I’ll just try to stay out of her way.”

They smile as they get back to making the popcorn and sorting all the sodas. I hear the doorbell ring, and seeing their hands were full I offered to answer it. I walk to the door to find a whole group of people and they all swarm into the house. One guy however lingered back and made his way over to me.

  “Hi Zayn,” I say cautiously.

 “You have fun last night?”

“I’m sorry about that, Zayn. Listen, I just arrived in England last week and I need a little while to accustom to living here before I begin dating…Eleanor brought me to a party last night to meet some new people..”

“I don’t want to mess with a girl that plays games with me anyways, so you’re free to go.”

“Um excuse me?” I ask as he starts to walk away.

 “What?”

“What do you mean I’m ‘free to go’? I just told you that I don’t want to date you, you don’t release someone from dating you.”

“People don’t talk to me that way,” he growled as he took a step forward.

“Well people don’t undermine me since I’m a girl. Don’t talk like that to me, ever again.” I start to leave, but he grabs my arm and thrusts me against the wall and brings his mouth to my ear.

“Kiss me,” he whispers into my ear.

I take hold of the hand that cups my arm and twist my arm out of his grasp. I shove him back, leaving him speechless as I replied, “Never.”

I arrive back in the media room and my eyes instantly find Niall getting some popcorn for the movie. I admire his back in his plain white tee shirt. I find my eyes dart down to his pants and smile at the realization that he did not inherit the horrible trait of having absolutely no butt. He turns around, balancing two things of popcorn in his hand and two drinks in the other. He makes his way over to me.

“You a little hungry?” I ask him playfully.

“One is for you,” he smiles as he hands me one of each.

 I laugh, “Why thank you.”

He seemed like a nice boy, I decided I’d give him a shot since Eleanor seemed keen on the idea of me and him getting to know each other. He catches me smiling at him and I feel myself blush. It was a curse.

“Let’s go find a seat,” he suggests. I follow him and we find a small love seat in one of the middle isles. The room resembled a movie theatre, but about a fourth of the size. Eleanor’s house was massive. I see her put the movie in and the big screen becomes occupied with the movie we are watching. Someone switches off the lights, making it impossible to see anywhere else besides the screen.

“Listen, Niall. I have to tell you something,” I whisper as we sit down. He pulls a blanket over us and I continue, “I don’t want you thinking that I’m a slut that goes around and makes out with guys after just meeting them. I, actually, happen to be one of the few girls that are looking for an actual relationship, and not just random hookups.”

“I’m really sorry about last night too. I got really drunk, although I’m not usually such a flirt. I’m sorry if…”

I interrupted him, “It’s fine, really.” I looked down and smiled, “I enjoyed it, actually.”

“Oh really?” He whispers back, I can sense a smile and I feel him slowly lean over and once again I feel a pair of soft lips kissing mine. I smile, this was fun. He lays his right hand on my hip and he opened his mouth to allow my tongue to explore. I breathe in his smell, I feel his eyelashes against my cheeks, my nose slightly touches his smooth cheek. We draw apart and I snuggle into the crock of his neck and he puts his arm over my shoulders as we avert our attention back to the movie.

“I have to use the restroom…I’ll be right back,” I whisper to him.

I exit the room and make my way down the hall to find the curly haired boy that I had accidentally fallen asleep next to the night before standing in front of the bathroom door.

“So, you and Niall, eh?”

“We kissed, it’s not like we’re getting married,” I tell him. “May I use the bathroom please, uhh..?”

“Harry.”

“May I please use the bathroom, Harry?”

“Not until you stop being mad at me.”

 “I’m not mad.”

“Oh really?” He tilts my head up to make my eyes look into his. My heart races a little faster for reasons unknown. “You’re lying,” he states as he takes his finger away from my chin.

“Please leave me alone, Harry. If Kelsey found out that you fell asleep with me, I don’t even want to know what she would do. And if she catches me talking to you when you’re supposed to be in there with her, she’d probably be even more pissed.”

He lifts his arms up in surrender and steps away from the door. Right as I open the door to use the restroom, he calls out and says, “For the record, I didn’t regret it.” He turns back around and I watch him leave the hallway into the media room.

“Whoa,” I whispered as I slipped into the bathroom.
