" Hope of Captain"

13 days before Christmas

"Welcome aboard George Davidson"

A female voice called my name, I felt my eyes burning, the only thing I managed to see was a white light. I could make out a few shadows from all the blinding lights. There were about 4 figures around me. One stood out. It was a pompous figure, horns protruding and it seemed to have its eyes fixed on me, watching my movements.

The woman spoke once more, ordering one of the shadows to turn off the lights.

My vision was affected by the change, as it was like a blackout. I groaned from the discomfort and then tried to adjust to the vision.

The woman walked around my bed and stood next to me, pushed my hair away from my face, my vision returned, and what I saw left me mesmerized, but at the same time, horrified.

The woman had goat horns, a doctor's gown, her eyes were honey brown, and she had a lamb's nose, long fluffy hair, the beginning of her scalp was a whitish blonde color, but the ends, the end of her hair was light brown.

"I'm sorry we meet like this, doctor, can you get him a glass of water and some food?" The woman turned to a fox, orange in color, he was wearing a doctor's coat, a cap, looked like Sherlock Holmes, but this one was black, and had a gold square in the middle of it. His eyes were blue like the sea, black but beautiful.

The fox nodded and then left the room, leaving the lamb and two others with me in this lonely room. I felt vulnerable, wearing only a shirt, typical hospital shirts. I wondered how I could have gotten here, but my mind was fuzzy, I didn't remember anything.

"W-where am I? Who are you? And-"

"I am Captain Puffy, and you are in the core of the military base." The woman spoke, and I was shocked.

What did she mean by core? Was the core the great mass of energy that I managed to destroy, or was it just a decoy, they really...?

"This base was built in 1780 to protect the monsters from humanity, leaving us trapped in the underground, we tried to communicate with humans the last decades, generation after generation, but we got no answer" She looked at me, her honey-colored eyes never took her eyes off me, she made me feel helpless. "When you fell, we thought you were coming for us, an invasion, but in reality, you destroyed the nucleus that held us prisoners, thanks to you we can get out".

"What do you mean by that? Are you saying that it was like a magnetic field that had you trapped, and that thanks to my breaking it, you can finally come to the surface? That doesn't make any sense! They'll kill you, you'll see, you're monsters!" I had trouble speaking, as if I was a baby learning to speak for the first time.

"I thought you would give more of yourself George" Said the captain.

"What do you mean"

At that instant, the captain signaled for the two remaining people in the room to leave, they bowed and left, but then the fox returned, smiled at me and handed me a basin of water and a piece of toast. I hesitated to take it but couldn't help it, my stomach was growling.
