Ruby opened the old, rusty gate and stood as Easton followed behind her. They both took a long look at the castle, expressing their thoughts in two different directions. Ruby smiled as she looked at the size of the mansion. "This is gonna be awesome." She snickered, placing her hands on her hips.

Easton turned his head to her, a weak frown on his lips. He shook his head. "Are you sure this is a good idea? Remember what my dad said about this place."

Ruby nodded and patted her cousin's shoulder roughly, "If I had any doubts, I would have said them a long time ago. It will be fine." She walked ahead of him and set her eyes on the front door.

Easton froze. He finally just crossed his arms, his face fixed upwards at the top of the mansion. "I'm not going." His eyebrows furrowed, shifting his weight so he could stand straight.

Ruby stopped and turned on her heel, a cocky look appearing on her face. "What? Not going? Are you kidding? We are right here."

Easton nodded and tightened his grip on his arms. "Ruby, listen. I've got a real bad feeling about this"

Ruby let out a loud, drawn out 'uhg' before breathing out "Look. what if I promise tooooooo." She paused, placing her pointer finger and thumb on her chin. "Let you go on more adventures and not nag you as much, will you come in with me."

Easton's shoulder rose in thought. He blinked and his eyes darted around. "Well." He took in a breath then sighed "fine."

A smile hit Ruby's mouth as she bellowed, "I knew it! Come on." She threw her hand up and made a waving motion. She bounded herself to the front door and turned to watch Easton follow her slowly. "Here we go." She smiled, placing her hand on his back again. She slowly opened the old raggedy door. It was pitch black.

"I'm going to check to see if there are any lights or something-" Ruby left Easton's side and went to go look for a source of light.

"Ruby, please be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." Easton was holding on to the door knob lightly. He slowly looked inside the dark room. Something pushed into his arm. He tensed to push the door off him but before he could react, he was thrown into the darkness. "Who-" He sputtered as he fell into his face.

"Ah-Ouch." He puffed, throwing himself back up. "Who was that-." He sputtered whipping around. He placed his hands on the door and tried to find the handle. "Where is it?"

"I found some torches." Ruby walked over to Easton with two torches in hand. She placed one in Easton's hands and grinned. "There, now we can see." She glanced around the dark room. "Hm. Where should we go now?"

Easton looked around "hmm. Um. That way.". He pointed to the door frame that looked the least broken and Ruby nodded. They walked side by side, Easton holding his torch tightly.
