Dead Give Away

========================================================

Footsteps pounded heavily on the wooden floor. Yelling followed, filling the air with panicked and angered huffs. As the group found themselves rushing down the hall, an army of the Dimentio glass figures hounded after them. The sounds of their feet sounded like a familiar ping of glass.

Mario ran behind everyone, making sure everyone was keeping up. He kept yelling for someone near the front to find a place to hide. Ruby and Easton were near the front. Ruby kept trying to disagree but with every second, Easton's speed quickened and Ruby's uneasy for him grew. Easton glanced around and gasped, "The Library! It has a built in barricade system!"

"Why does it-" Nova began to ask, trying to look back at the enemies.

"Let's just say my parents weren't as liked as I am!" Daisy suddenly yelled over him.

They quickened their pace, everyone already ready to stop running. Easton was far ahead of everyone now, booking it to a large set of doors and opening it. "In here!" He called, holding it ajar. The group rocketed into the room, Easton slamming the door shut behind them. Luigi turned and ran to help Easton. The two were beside a bookcase, yanking off a shelf of books and flicked two buttons. They stood up as a large wooden barricade, reinforced with iron, fell onto the door.

Daisy was almost chuckling, both her hands gripped tight on her knees. Her head hung lightly as she caught her breath. "Good job everyone." She placed her hands on her hips, taking in a deeper breath. She gasped after a moment and cursed.

Luigi turned and cocked his head, "What's wrong?"

Daisy pointed to the back of the room. There stood another set of large doors, another barricade keeping it shut. "That was our only way to escape. We would have to remove both barricades to leave." She continued to curse to herself, walking through the aisles of books. She moved to a spot that looked more lived in then the rest of the library and plopped herself in an armchair, suddenly calm.

Mario puffed and groaned for a moment. "We need to make a plan, take a quick breather." He wanted a break just as much as anyone else did. He moved to one of the tables and placed his hands on it, his head hanging forwards.

Dianne has edged off to the side, trying to get away from everyone. Her shoulders had risen high. She backed into a corner and pulled out her book. She clutched it tightly, opening it to one of her favorite pages. As her finger's ran over the pages, She felt something she hadn't really noticed until now.

She pushed her fingers into the pages a bit more, turning her head to it. As she pulled at the paper, she began to see that the once one paper seemed to be two, glued together. She pulled it open and peered inside. She never even noticed, as she opened it up completely. The page number was "60" although she already had a page 60.

"The Carnie of Havoc" She whispered the title under her breath, realizing it's name's hint. She sighed loudly, shaking her head in complete and utter worry.
