There was a ridiculously loud banging coming from Drews front door, the noise making the man awaken from his sleep. His head was viciously pounding, his body intertwined with another and his fingers stuck in her hair. He once again let out a deep and regretful sigh, he knew what he had done, he just hoped he could blame the alcohol for it when she woke up.
He slid his body from the bed, grabbing his shorts from the floor and pulling them on so he wasn't answering the door in his underwear. He ran a hand sloppily through his hair, sending one more glance back at the girl in his bed. He smiled only slightly to himself, making his way out of the bedroom and towards the obnoxious knocking.
Without a second thought he ripped the door open, figuring that he might be able to figure out who's on the other side. Lennie was standing in the doorway, a crazed look in her eye and Chase cowering behind her. Drew didn't speak, his lips tightening as he moved out for the way so that the girl could get inside.
Lennie rushed past him, her eyes quickly brushing over Drew's almost naked body, before she disappeared down the hall. Chase gave Drew a tight lipped smile, everyone knew what he had done. They just wanted to make sure she was for sure here.
Lennie busted into Drew's bedroom, her eyes immediately falling on Parker who was sleeping pretty soundly. She was in Drew's shirt, and a pain of bed shorts, making it almost seem as if nothing but sleeping had happened. However, Lennie knew her best friend. And where Drew was involved, it was never that easy. She had no one but herself to blame, she really didn't. They wouldn't have been in the same place if it wasn't for her. And no one in the group was ready for the Drew and Parker circus that was about to start again.
"P! Parker!" Lennie whisper-yelled, the girl in the bed immediately stirring. She instinctively reached for Drew and was disappointed when she couldn't find him, her eyes fluttering open as a frown etched into her lips. She knew what she had done, she only hoped she wouldn't get ridiculed about it. "Parker let's go! And let's take whatever dignity we have left with us? Yeah. I think that's a good idea. Dude...get the fuck up." Lennie continued to whisper, Parker finally sitting up. This was the worst part of getting back to Drew...the reactions and resistance from their friends.
Parker scooted off the bed, not bothering to grab anything but her shoes , phone, and bag as Lennie ushered her towards the bedroom door.
"...no yeah I know what you're saying. I'm just saying do you always have to sleep with her? Like you can take the couch you know?" Chases voice was easy to hear as the girls snuck down the hallway, Lennie planning to sneak past both the joys and get her best friend home. They were almost out the door when Chase saw both of them, the man calling out for them. "Hey! Not so fast. You're my ride."
"Actually...she's your ride. Drive her car back to her place." Lennie tossed the keys to Chase, the man catching them with a groan as Drew ignored their exchange. His eyes settled on Parker who was staring at the floor, trying not to look at Drew. She finally gave in, stealing a glance at him, a sweet smile covering her lips as she realized he was already looking at her.
Drew's eyebrows furrowed as he felt a pang of pain in his chest, he wished he could let go. But the thought of her leaving with Lennie was killing him, he wished he could keep her as his secret for once. The relationships main problems always started when their friends found out. Parker would only listen to her friends, Drew having the same issue from time to time. But Parker was unable to turn a blind eye to Lennies opinion, so Drew considered a new villain.
Lennie Nelson.
Drew wondered if somehow he could have Parker, but secretly, and without Lennie finding out. Without anyone finding out.
Parker wondered if she could find a way to stay, she wasn't quite ready to leave. All she wanted to Drew, and to go back to bed and sleep the day away with him. His arms were her comfort place and his voice was her favorite noise. She could feel him pulling at every string of her heart and every piece of her soul as she just looked at him, getting lost in the fact that he was who he was.
"Alright. Enough you two. Let's go P." Lennie said, grabbing Parker by the arm. The girl kept her eyes on Drew, her lips parting slightly as she thought of a way to get out of leaving. But nothing came to mind, leaving her with no other option but to go.
The look in Drew's eyes as she finally turned away from him was almost gut-wrenching. He wanted her there as much as she wanted to be there. Instead of fighting for her to stay Drew crossed his arms over his bare chest, watching as the two women disappeared out the door. Chase was quick to turn to Drew as the door shut, shaking his head in disappointment at the man.
"I know this is my fault that you guys saw each other again...but you gotta leave her alone man. Just let her be. You're never gonna heal if you keep reopening the same old wound." Chase clapped Drew on the back, giving him a sympathetic but stern smile before flipping the car keys in his hands and heading towards the door. "I'm sorry for the part I played in this disaster. Let me know if you need anything man." Chase too disappeared, leaving Drew alone again in his empty living room. He felt robbed, like he had been stolen from. There time had been cut too short and there was nothing he could do to fix it. He sighed, making his way towards his bedroom again to go back to sleep.
Parker sat silently in the car, her eyes glued to the dash as she remembered what Lennie had done to her the night before.
"Are you still mad?"
"Yes." Parker answered immediately. Lennie sighed, rolling her eyes momentarily before speaking again to her friend who didn't seem liens he wanted to hear it.
"Well get unmad. You have shit to do today."
