Chapter 36

Yuuko lets out a long, frustrated sigh, then paces from one side of the spacious hallway to the other as she impatiently waits for her stupid new home-room teacher to finish briefing the students about… something or other, and before even introducing herself

It made zero bloody senseWhy bring her in afterwards?!  Shouldn’t she listen to the damned announcements, too?  Or was the middle-aged, skinny, balding male merely riling the other kids up?  Telling them any and all manner of lies about her?  Was she going to get laughed out of the school right after she entered the room?

The small highschooler shuffles to a stop beside the closed sliding-door into 2-E, then spins on a heel of an indoor slipper and rests her back against the reinforced wall before staring out of the windows on the opposite side.  Komae High-School was actually pretty large.  Two thousand or so students in a six storey main building.  They had a gym, pool, ball-diamond, soccer-pitch, tennis courts… and it was located right beside the river, which brought a steady breeze to the back of the campus year-round…

Still… even with all the hustle and bustle at the main gate this morning, their new five-person grouping barely stood out at all… and with their three new friends walking in front of Misa-chan and herself… they were able to comfortably hold each-other’s hands all the way to the shoe-lockers without anyone raising an alarm

Gods… it was all so surreal.  Her life had turned around so quickly… only two weeks removed from the most terrifying experience of her existence… and now she had a new place to live, a gorgeous guardian angel, beautiful lover, and three brand new, tolerant companions

What Misa-chan and herself had found on the remaining walk to school was that the odd trio of first-years had known each other since kindergarten, and that their bonds were un-breakable.  No matter what kinds of arguments or fights they got into over the years, their anger could only ever last a day at the most.  The two twins were extremely protective of their ‘special’ friend, too, and would probably take on a pack of rabid wolves if it made Ami-chan happy

It was a rather strange group-dynamic they had, though.  The sisters were hetero yet held wildly different attractions, while their yuri-friend was looking in the complete-opposite direction altogether… and yet none of them had a lover during elementary school.  Indeed, Rina-chan claimed that boys and girls alike stayed well away from them… but that was perfectly fine, since all they really needed to have a good time was one another

And it was easy to see how much fun they had.  The twins were a perfect comedy-duo, with the athletic Haruka acting the fool to Rina’s straight-laced quips and strikes.  Then, of course, Ami-chan would try to step in, falling all over herself in the process, and then the pair of dissimilar siblings would group together to lambaste their yuri companion… only to immediately turn on each other again.  It was ever entertaining… and they were sure to have an interesting time whenever they were all together
