she wasn't there again, but this time, she told him so. somehow, he find himself going to the café again and again every morning, perhaps it became a habit of his.
gojou sat at the usual table he would sit at with y/n but this time, she wasn't there to drink coffee with him, to have a chat with him.
after a few days, all he did was walked by the café. not bothering to go in and order a coffee. looking through the glass windows of the café, he didn't saw her anywhere around so he walked away.
it somehow felt like something was missing from his life. he felt rather empty every morning.
was a person really that important to him? well yes. some even left him and he didn't expect for her to stay, but it was as if she would never leave him. she would stay and meet up with him, have a chat over coffee with him.
he only knew her for about a month or so but he was already attached to her.
but he understood, she had some things to do. she had to go, only for a while. she will come back soon.
is what he hoped for.
"hey, nanamin!"
nanami simply kept walking forward, ignoring gojou but this was normal, so gojou walked next to him, both of then going towards a bakery not too far away from them.
"hey, nanamin.." gojou started, "do you know anything that's going on with l/n?" he asked the man next to him.
nanami unexpectedly stopped in his tracks. turning to gojou he raised an eyebrow. "what do you mean?"
"well, you see.." he scratched his cheek with his index finger. "she said she wasn't gonna be coming to the café we would usually meet at every morning, does she go to work?"
gojou knew it wasn't his business, he knew he didn't had any rights to know what's going on in her private life, but he was worried for her, for what may happened to her.
"she's taking a break," was nanami's only reply, but he sounds as if he knows something. something more than just her taking a break. "she's.. with her family." he averted his eyes from gojou.
gojou not wanting to be nosy, he shut simply nodded.
y/n smiles as gojou walks towards the booth she was sitting at in the café. they talked a little as usual and then his name was called as his order was done. he went to get it and before he went back he looks at y/n.
something about her seems off, she looks paler. she looks almost lifeless. she also started to wear a beanie though it being rather warm out and inside the café. even so, she never fail to show him her smile.
once he was back to their booth, he was hesitant to ask her what was wrong with her and in the end he doesn't ask.
"gojou," y/n called him, quietly but he could still hear it. "i'm not gonna be here tomorrow, but you should come here a week from now.. i have something to tell you.." she said, her voice almost inaudible. she weakly smiles at him and the urge of asking what was wrong came back to him.
before he could even utter a word in response, she stood up. "sorry, i have to go.." she excuses herself. "i'll see you.. gojou," and with a last smile from her she left the café.
a week later, gojou came to the café but didn't see y/n there anywhere.
didn't she told me to come here a week ago? where is she?
he went to sit at a table thinking that maybe she was just late. just then a worker came to his table and handed him a letter. he looked at the worker confused but the worker said that someone dropped it off and told him to give it to a certain regular customer.
gojou took the letter into his hand and inspect it. seeing it had his name on it, he open the letter take out a piece of paper that was inside. unfolding the paper, he saw it was from y/n.
after a few seconds of reading the letter, his vision started to get blurry with tears.
l/n has cancer?
