Chapter 2: The Elite

Eight Years ago:
Empire-Gifnora Forest

Bill: "Now then, I wonder which of the children will reach here first."  Two men stood next to each other, overseeing a massive dense forest.  "...I thought that your plan was to buy up a group of a hundred children across the empire to groom, them into assassins... No matter how you look at it, you've placed more than a hundred children in the forest."

Gozuki: "It's fine. This is exactly how the plan is meant to start."  He grinned, munching on a piece of meat that was on his blade.  "This weed-out process will definitely kill a few dozen children."

Bill: "I see... So weak candidates will just eliminate themselves on their own. So Gozuki, how many can you train?"

Gozuki: "Hm... I guess seven would be the limit for me as I am now."

Bill: "Very well. After ranking them, we'll give the top seven elite candidates to you. We will take the rest."

>Chapter 2: The Elite<

Kurome: "B-Big sis..."  Two girls, both the raven black hair, but the elder of the two had aiming scarlet eyes while the younger had fearful onyx eyes.  "I can't run anymore..."

Akame: "We're almost there! You can do it, Kurome!"  However, the two sisters looked in front of them upon hearing screams. They looked on in horror as multiple Plant Danger Beasts mauled on the other children.  "...We can't go this way! Come on, we have to go around!!"

Kurome: "...T-They're being... eaten..."  Her expression displayed fear and distraught, however the elder of the two grabbed her hand tightly.

Akame: "It's alright. You're big sis is with you."

Kurome: "...Okay." 

She still had tears in her eyes, but was more resolved. However, while they were distracted, a canine Danger Beast snuck up behind them and was about to pounce on the younger of the two sister. Akame, since she was looking at her sister, saw this and was about to kill the beast, however, someone beat her to it first; A young boy with black hair and blood red eyes. Like the others, he wielded a knife, and he drove it through the skull of the Danger Beast, killing it instantly.

Dairoku: "Are you okay?"

Kurome: "Y-Yes, thank you!"  He smiled at her, but was taken by surprise when Akame lunged towards him and thrusts her knife towards his head, however, he simply moved his head aside, and her knife stabbed a lunging Danger Beast that was behind him.

Dairoku: "Well damn..."

Akame: "We're even now."

Dairoku: "Yeah. I guess we are..."  He was still a bit surprised but nodded his head at her. But then the sound of a girl's high pitched scream caught their attention. Dairoku immediately recognized the voice.  "Akaruime!!"  He dashed over to the area where he heard the scream, the two ravenette sisters behind him trying to keep up. When he got to her, he saw she was on the ground, her green eyes filled with tears and terror.  "What happened!? Where's Kuraime!?"

Akaruime: "B-Big Sis was..."  She fearfully pointed to a giant frog Danger Beast, a Kaiser Frog in front of her, making the children's eyes widened in shock.

Kurome: "S-She was e-eaten...??"  However, the Kaiser Frog began gagging as it suddenly exploded in dark energy. From the explosion stood a girl with hair that was as long as Akame's but her eyes glowed a dark purple. She snarled before she calmed down and looked back at them.

Akaruime: "Big sis!!"  She leaped into her arms, hugging her tightly as she cried.

Kuraime: "A-Akaruime...! Dairoku??"
