Chapter 3;
"Frankie! Frankie!" Alice called.
I snapped out of my train of thought, how long had I been thinking about what would happen to Liam? I seemed to have temporarily become detached from reality.
"Huh? Oh sorry..." I answered dazed.
I've been calling you for ages" Alice whispered. "I wasn't really upset about you not telling me." Alice looked slightly worried. "So are you going to tell me who this mystery guy Liam is then?"
I felt the lump in my throat disappear and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Obviously she didn't actually know who Liam was; I must have just said his name in my sleep. This part made me smile, I was even thinking about him in my sleep.
"Oh, he's just a boy I met at the end of summer. We kind of kissed once but it was nothing serious." I lied.
I was quite shocked about how easily I had spun up that lie to tell my best friend. I felt bad about lying to Alice, I had never lied to her before but this was different, if I told her Liam could lose his job.
"Oooh, tell me every last detail." Alice was suddenly excited.
"Later" I looked up at the clock, "we need to start getting ready for school we are going to be late and I don't really want a detention on my second day back"
We both walked back upstairs and got ready for school silently, I had the feeling that Alice was annoyed at me because I hadn't told her all the gossip about me and Liam. I couldn't tell her yet, I needed more time to think up a lie about how I met him, lying- that was something I was never good at.
Alice and I got to school right on time, luckily. We walked over to our friends, they were deep in conversation. Lucy was arguing about how fit Liam, well Mr Riley to them, is. I sighed; I was hoping that no one would mention him. Will noticed me and smiled I could see he was just glad to have an excuse to escape the conversation about Liam.
"Hello Frankie, How are you?" Will smiled.
"Hey, I'm good thank you I just wish everyone would just stop going on about Mr Riley he's just a teacher!" I moaned
"I'm with you on that one."
The boys walked with us to Drama then they went off to play football. I walked into the classroom and there he stood, Liam looked even more amazing than he did yesterday. I didn't think that was possible. He was wearing dark purple shirt and a slightly lighter tie, the colour purple looked absolutely astonishing on him, and it made his green eyes stand out. His hair looked perfect it fell just over his forehead. His eyes met mine and he gave be a huge smile, my heart started beating in my chest, and I couldn't seem to move.
"Morning class." Liam called.
I loved the sound of his voice. I quickly found a seat; it was right at the back of the class. Liam began teaching talking us through the play again. I could see all the girls in the class hanging onto his every word and it made me so angry, how could they all act like this towards him? I realised how pathetic I was being it wasn't like I was actually going out with him, we had only kissed and he had asked me to see him at dinner time today. He wouldn't have kissed me if he didn't like me atleast a little bit would he? I was beginning to dread seeing him at dinner time, I couldn't help thinking that he wanted to tell me that he didn't like me and that yesterday was a mistake.
