maeve POV

"So pope you wanted to introduce me to your new friends, correct?" Maeve asks her brother while walking towards 'the Wreck'. "Mhm!! I think you'll like them."

Like them? Is he kidding? He knows i don't like kooks. Kooks are boring and all the time he has said 'i think you'll like them', i end up in the boxing ring. Whatever lets just see what he's got in store for me today.

As we walk trough the entrance i look around as goal : seeing anyone i haven't seen before. While i was searching for the strangers Pope takes a seat. When i was about to give up i see a blonde boy walk up to us.

That could never be a kook.

"Hey bro!" the blonde boy says as he takes a seat next to my brother. "Glad you were down to meet us today, man." he added. He than turns his head to meet my eyes and comments "Why hello pretty lady, didn't see ya there!"

Pogue, for sure.

"I didn't notice you either" i mocked the boy that was now smirking. "Kidding, im Maeve." i say as i extend my hand for him to shake it. He shakes my hand. "The names JJ. JJ maybank." I smile at him and he returns the grin.

Then my brother, pope starts babbling about his scholarship while JJ listens, quite interested. He keeps asking questions so Pope goes on and i see how much my brother enjoys talking to him. I liked this guy. I mean more then the other douche's Pope had introduced me to.

While the conversation goes on a girl walks up to our table. "Why hello boys, care to order?" she said in a funny accent. "Mae, this is Kiara." "Call me Kie!" the girl added happily. "Hey Kie! I'm Maeve but you can call me Mae." I told her in an excited tone. I immediately loved her aura.

Kie sat down next to me as we shared a genuine smile. "So Pope, for the first time you aren't introducing me to bóring kooks?" JJ and Kiara give each-other a look, confused. "Forgot to tell you sis, these aren't kooks."

Damn. I knew kooks couldn't be that nice.

"Oh." I comment while smiling slightly to ignore how awkward it got. The boy, JJ then laughs and starts talking to kie saying things like: "JJ maybank. Full kook! It sounds amazing doesn't it." The girl laughs but wasn't focusing on him but on me.

"So how long have you two been here? You know the Outer Banks." i laugh. "Girl, i've been a pogue for life!" i declared proud. "Knew it!" , "pogues are hot." the blonde boy adds. "Stop hitting on my sister dude!" my brother said. "Besides she's way out of your league!" he insisted.  "Sorry bro, i was just trying to compliment your sis." he says while shooting me a wink. I roll my eyes at him. I liked it tho.

As a new conversation starts i recognise the tune playing in the  restaurant we're seated in.

When i wake up.
I can't even stay up.
I slept through the day.
Im not getting younger.
But when i'm older, i'll be so much stronger.
Ill stay up for longer.
Meet me at our spot.

I get out of my seat and reach out my hand to Pope. "Is this?-" "You got it brother." He gets out of his and we start dancing like idiots. "Wait you guys know this songs?" JJ says in excitement. He gets out of his seat too and starts dancing too. While he's dancing he walks over to me still moving to the beat while smiling.

Me and the blonde boy i met just 30 minutes ago are now dancing together while lip-syncing the lyrics to each other. Meanwhile Kie got up too and started singing. My brother cheered her on. I have never seen him this social.

Caught a vibe.
I smile at JJ.
Baby, are you coming for the ride?
He smiles at me.
I just wanna look into your eyes.
We continue lip-syncing the song.
I just wanna stay for the night.
When we take a drive, maybe we can hit the 405?
Hypnotised by the light. Man this must be the life.
This guy was my favourite guy pope had ever introduced me to.

"You're quite a dancer Mae." JJ comments. "Your not too bad yourself, J."

Then another guy walks up to us, he says his name is John B.

        time skip

"That's what, a three-story fall to the deck?"
"I give you about a one-in-three chance of survival."  Pope claimed.
"Hm. Should i do it?" John b questioned.
"Yeah,  jump."I add. "I'll shoot you on the way down." my brother added. "You'll shoot me?" "Yep." the boys say as they make hand gestures you'd make if you were to shoot someone.

While the boys continue Kie walks in complaining: "They're gonna have Japanese toilets with towel warmers." "Of course they are why wouldn't they?" JJ adds. "This used to be a turtle habitat, but who cares about the turtles, I guess." Kiara scoffed.

"Can you please not kill yourself?" Kie mocks the boy standing on the edge. "Nah it's alright Kie, i'll see him on the other side." I say. "You better not spill that beer i'm not giving you another one." JJ tells him. Then he drops the beer. "Whoa! Oh, shit." "Could've expected that coming, i mean it's John B." i snorted. "Of course you did-" "Smooth." John B groans looking down at the poor beer. "Dumbass." I say as i roll my eyes.

"Hey!" Hey y'all security's here." Pope claimed. "Let's wrap it up!" "Boys are early today huh?"
"Gary is that you?" "It's me." "Good to you see man!" "You're asking for it J."

We then all run downstairs while Gary screams "Oh JJ!" "Whoooo!" We all laugh while running. "Hey, stop!!" the guard tries to grab me but I get out of his grip as I comment: "Sorry not much of a hugger man!"

We're still running and laughing and JJ is shouting "Go, Pope! Go! Go, go, go, go, go!" The five of us jump over a fence. Pope falls on the ground and groans. "Nice jump bro!" I laugh. JJ then adds: "Get up, Pope, fatso's coming." Pope gets up and he catches up with me and JJ, running from the guard. "Come here you little pricks!" "Sorry our bus is leaving!" I laugh while jumping into the Twinkie.

"Come on guys! Whooooo!" Kie says while closing the door of the van full of stickers. We then see Gary, still running behind the van. "Come on Gary!" "You can do this."
"Come here you little pricks." Gary growled. "Oh, you guys are gonna give him a heart attack." Kiara says. "You're so close!" JJ mocks. "You can do it man!" I add. "There you go!" JJ says as he throws the beer at the exhausted officer. The beer flies just above his head. "They don't pay you enough, bro." "JJ, stop. Just stop." Kie complains. We all laugh.

The Outer Banks, paradise on earth.
