I sit quietly in the grass, trying hard not to fall asleep. It was so warm and nice outside and I hadn't gotten much sleep. So this was a real struggle. I sigh before slowly falling back and laying down in the grass. It was surprisingly comfortable for being a dry field, but I guess when you're tired anything can be comfy.

I was so bored today and had no plans but I was still debating if I should take a nap. I then hear the faint sound of foot steps rustling in the grass. The sound starts to come closer and louder. I look over to the side of me to get a look of who might be there. It's was a boy coming to me. I was confused, wondering why he was coming closer.

I look away not to draw any attention and face my gaze back to the sky. The foots steps come closer then to a stop, right by me. "May I sit here?" A voice asks. I turn my head and it was the boy. Not wanting to talks much I nodded in response. He smiled, showing a pare of buck teeth. His smile gave me a warm feeling, like drinking hot tea one cold winter night. I observed the boy more, he interested me.

He had fluffy black hair with a bright teal strip in the middles his bangs. His face was scattered with brown freckles and he had glimmering blue eyes. I watch as he sat down, reading a book. The Secrets of Alchemy, it read. So a his a sciences man, interesting. Before I knew it my staring had caught his attention. His eyes met mine and I had a immediate reaction. I slightly jumped and looked elsewhere. I could hear a small chuckle coming from him. At least he found it amusing.

"Do you like alchemy?" The boy said. I slowly turn to face him. I sit and pause before answering. "Well it looks really fun, I doubt I'd be good at it though." I say ending with a slight laugh. He laughs with me "Trust me I was terrible when I first tried alchemy, but I just kept learning more and got better. " I smile before speaking again" I'm (Y/n) by the way, nice to meant you."

"Varian, so do you live around he?" He asks. "Yes, I do, I've never seen you around here though, are you new here?" I say. "Heh, well no, but I don't come outside a lot. I'm usually inside my garage doing some kind of alchemy experiment." He say with a nervous grin. "Alchemy? That's sounds interesting, what exactly is it?" I ask.

His face lights up as I say that. "Oh well trust me I'll tell you everything I know!" He says ecstatically. As he rambled on I couldn't help but smile the whole time. He was so cute, I mean um he was very smart and it was nice listening to him. Everything he said was like gold to me. He suddenly made me feel so happy, I was comfortable and enjoyed hearing him speak. I'm a way I never wanted this to end even if I knew it would.

"So yeah, alchemy! Pretty cool, right?" He says with a smirk. Unprepared for a question I quickly respond."Oh yes! Very cool." I say with a smile. "Anyways I've got to get going. I was great chatting with you. We should hang out again. I really like your company." He say awkwardly rubbing his neck. My face flushed up. I could feel the heat burning my cheeks red.

"Thanks, it was nice having you around. I'd love to hang out again too, Varian." I say. His face freezes for a moment before he bounced back. "R-really? That would be awesome! I'll um be around here again tomorrow, we can hang out then! I'll see you later!" He says running off, tripping over his own feet as he left.

I chuckle at his words, waving good bye. He looked to be as excited as I was. I couldn't wait to see him again.
