I sprinted away from the house, my mother calling my name behind me. But I didn't want to talk to her, so I just kept on running.
"We didn't mean it, honey!" she called, chasing after me.
The snow started getting deeper as my tears became waterfalls down my face.
"Yes you did! Otherwise you wouldn't've said it!" I yelled back, cursing myself for replying.
She gave up, sighing.
"Fine! Have it your way! But just know that dinner won't be waiting for you when you return!" she screamed, turning back to the house.
I felt the tears start to dry up as I became slower. I knelt down, putting my head in my hands.
"How dare she. How dare they," I muttered to myself.
The snow felt deeper than it had the hour before. My boots became soggy from the melting snow in them. I felt someone standing over me, and I looked up to scream at my mother or father - whoever came out -, but it was... something else.
A presence loomed over me. It wasn't someone or even something. It was like a demon, like the devil. It was a translucent, black being. It had bright, glowing orange eyes; it was staring directly at me, and I squirmed. It looked like it had horns. It had arms and legs and in one of its hands, it was holding what looked to be a pitchfork. Ironically, it reminded me of the Devil's Pitchfork. It held out one hand and opened its mouth, revealing yellow wolf-like teeth.
"Let me help you. Let me help you defeat them. All it will cost you is your soul," it spoke, its raspy voice invading my ears.
I glanced at its outstretched hand and sighed.
Well, I thought, what do I have to lose?
-
I opened the door, to see my boyfriend and sister... kissing?! I screamed. And I screamed loud.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?!" I yelled, spitting in my sister's face.
My parents came running to see what the commotion was. They stopped dead in their tracks when they saw what my sister had done, but then their shoulders slumped.
"Really, Bellatrix?" My father sighed, "We thought that you would know that he would cheat on you. To be honest, I can't believe that you didn't find out sooner."
I was shocked. I was hurt. I was broken.
"Wha- No! No, no! You're lying! You're all lying!" I started crying again.
This time I didn't run outside. I had already gone and got what I wanted. I don't know what it was, but I felt it. I felt it enter my body and consume me. I felt a dark power overtake me, and I never wanted it to stop.
I sniffed and made the tears stop.
"Get out," my father demanded, pointing at my now ex-boyfriend.
I gripped the knife in my pocket. I didn't even know that there was a knife in my pocket. I pulled it out, much to everyone's surprise, and lunged at my sister. She screamed and leaped out of the way. My parents held my thrashing body back. I growled as my father took the knife from my hand.
A power, the same power that I had felt earlier, consumed me.
"And you think that you can overpower me how?" I asked, throwing my head back and laughing.
My sister looked terrified. I loved the influence that I had over her.
I wrenched the knife out my father's hand and thrashed at him. It hit his neck. I dug it in even further, decapitating him.
My sister gasped behind me.
"You will pay," is all I said before piercing the knife through my mother's heart.
I turned around and saw the tears roll down my sister's red face. Her bloodshot eyes locked with mine before she sprinted out the front door.
I cackled as she got further away. My plan is working, I thought, grabbing my phone and dialling the police.
"Help! Help! My sister went savage and killed our parents!" I cried when they answered.
"Hold on, ma'am. What's your name and where are you?" the operator responded.
I told them my name and address, putting on my best scared voice. I told the officer that I was scared that she'll 'kill me too'. He seemed to believe it.
I inwardly smirked. It was working.
"Don't worry, I sent out a dispatch. They should be at your house soon," he said.
"Okay. Thank you, officer," I responded.
"Please stay on the phone, ma'am, and let me know if anything else happens."
I obeyed.
-
The police arrived, caught my sister and took her into custody. Luckily, I got to talk to her before they took her away.
"I told you that you'd pay," I whispered.
And that was the last thing I ever said to my sister.
