I was frozen. I couldn't move or even blink. I stared wide eyed at the incredibly beautiful vampire holding on to me. Oh god he is going to kill me. I wonder if it will hurt. I wonder---

"Mate" He whispered breaking my train of thought. "Wh-what?" I stuttered. I am so confused. What the hell is a "Mate"? He didn't even answer me; instead he threw me over his shoulder. I let out a gasp at the sudden surprise. "Where are you taking me?!" I kept screaming and he still didn't answer me. Ugh! I hate vampires. I started hitting his back in frustration, but he slapped my butt and told me to stop. After a few moments I decided to just give up my feeble attempts.

What felt like hours, but really were only a few minutes due to his vampire speed; we slowed down to a steady walk. I couldn't see where we were, but I knew we had just entered a house. From what I could see his house was beautiful! He had to be rich or.... Oh no. What if he was a vampire king? If so, then I'm in a house full of leaches. Oh shit. Just my luck!

We finally arrived upstairs after about four flights of stairs! He walked down the hall and entered a room. He finally set me down! "Welcome to your new home mate. This is our room. And may I ask what your name beautiful?" There he goes again with this mate thing. What does that even mean? "This is not my new home! I refuse to live with a leach!" He seemed really shocked that I yelled at him. And then his blue eyes turned black, Uh-oh I'm in trouble. He grabbed a hold of my upper arms roughly and pinned me to the wall. "You will not disrespect me! Now I asked you, what is your name mate?" His voice was rough and he screamed power! I couldn't help but shiver at the pleasure of him holding me. Wait what? How was he affecting me like this? I hate vampires! "M-my n-n-name is E-Emily. Emily Harp." He smirked at my stuttering. Ugh stupid vampire. I scowled at him, warning him not to mess with me. Sure I was only human, but I could still throw a punch. "Emily. It suits you. A beautiful name for such a beautiful lady. Well Emily my name is Marcus. Marcus Zouca." Marcus. Now that is a beautiful name. Wait. Did I really just think that? Oh good god. He released me and walked over to a walk in closet. "Marcus?" I asked quietly, unsure if I should speak to him. "Yes, my love?" Love? Really he just meant me. He is definitely a weird one. "Um what's a mate?"

And so he told me what a mate was. He told me that it's a soul mate. Your other half. The only reason for your existence. Once you meet them it is impossible to be without them. You won't be able to concentrate or do anything. You will become depressed and wither away. Great. Looks like I'm going to be here for a long time.

"So mate, why were you wondering around the woods this late at night? It's dangerous out there. You could have been attacked by my clan or werewolves." Oh jeez did he just say werewolves? "W-w-werewolves are real too? A-and clan?" Oh know just what I suspected. He is a vampire king. And that makes me his queen! "Yes Emily werewolves are real. So are witches, ghosts, fairies and mermaids. And yes my clan. I am Vampire king of the Frostbite clan. And you are my queen Emily." Wow. This is a lot to take in. "Now Emily why were you in the woods? I want to know all about your life love." He wants to know about my life? "Well I'm really tired, can we talk about this tomorrow? Please?" I was hoping he would just drop the subject. He doesn't need to know about me. Once I get the chance I'm out of here. "I suppose. It is getting late. Come on lets go to bed." I really didn't want to sleep with him but I was too tired and scared to argue. I hoped in bed with him and got under the covers. I gasped when he came behind me and wrapped his arm around my waist. I was even more shocked when he kissed my cheek. "Goodnight love." He whispered in my ear. "Goodnight Marcus." Okay so I thought all vampires were bad? This has to all be an act. They are killers and they have no feeling. Or did they?
