chloe was sitting beside steve at the cafeteria. tommy and
carol were sitting together across from them. hannah was sitting next to chloe.
"so.. did anything happen last night..?" chloe mumble.
"what?" steve asked. "nothing." chloe said. carol had her foot on the table.
nancy came and sat down next to the group. "no, i swear
look at this, it's totally frostbite." carol said.
"oh thanks, man. it's a heated pool." tommy muffled. "well,
if it's not frost bite then what is it?" carol said, sarcastically.
"ugh, i don't care what it is. it's disgusting. get it off the table,
we're eating." steve exclaimed. "seriously, carol." hannah added.
"hey, tommy" nancy said once she sat down. "when you left
did you see barb?" nancy asked. "what?" he asked. "barbara." nancy said,
more clearer. "she's not here today." she said, disappointed. "I seriously have
no idea who you're talking about." tommy replied, jokingly. tommy and
carol laughed at the joke. "tommy. don't be such a goddamn asshole."
chloe commented. "did you- did you see her leave last night or
not?" steve asked again, pecking at his food. "no," tommy said, looking
at chloe. he turned his head back at his food and continued on saying,
"she was gone when we left." "she probably couldn't stand listening to all that moaning."
carol said. chloe looked down at her food and her hands turned into
fists. carol then proceeds to mock nancy by moaning loudly. tommy
was chuckling at this. "oh steve.. oh steve!" carol moaned in between.
she continued for a while. chloe stood up angrily. they all looked at the girl who
now looked like she was going to scream at the top of her lungs.
"hey, you ok?" hannah asked. "i'm fine." chloe said, angrily. she took her tray
and walked to a garbage can. she threw her lunch into the can and stormed off.
"i'm gonna check on her.." hannah said, and walking the direction chloe was.
"i'll go too." steve said, following hannah. nancy noticed jonathon walk by.
they make eye contact until jonathon leaves.
