Autumn

As the days of Summer began to get shorter,
As the last leaf begins to fall,
The pumpkins are carved and all placed outside,
As Autumn begins its call.

The days start to get colder,
As we bake a pumpkin pie,
Children get excited for the 31st,
As we wave the Summer goodbye.

Many costumes are bought,
The decorations hung,
As we celebrate Halloween,
As we couldn't wait for Christmas to come.

Apparently in the past,
They used fires to ward off ghosts,
No! I did not get that from Google!
I'm just smart like that, hate to boast.
