It was one day when the rains coldness affected Donghyuck so much that he fell ill terribly, specifically on that day there was no one at home. Mark had gone to attend meetings on his behalf, Taeyong was at work, Jaehyun was at his stall back the village, Jaemin busy on his small business where he'd sell scented candles. He had started shivering so much that he wasn't even able to go up the stairs to the room and the rain and made the floor so damp it was making his fever worser than it already was.
Jaemin pouted at the rain, he was soaked to the bones and his candles were all ruined. That's when a carriage rolled by, stopping before him making him confused and a little afraid. Times were such where even beautiful boys were at risk.
"May I give you a ride?" A deep gruff voice asked him, a handsome man with the most beautiful smile ever asked Jaemin. Most probably a prince who happened to pass by this way.
"No thank your Highness. I'll run along once the rain seizes." Jaemin bowed unable to curtail his cheeks flushing a soft pink.
"Very well then. Don't get sick. But I insist in giving you a ride, theres no sign of this vicious rain seizing. Please. I'm Sue Jeno, Son of Lord Johnny. I promise I won't hurt you in anyway." He opened the carriage and extended an arm at the beautiful boy. Jaemin contemplated but took the arm of the handsome stranger with a beating heart.
Mark groaned at the rain, he held his coat above his head as he jogged home, for his stubborn bitch would be there. He opened the door, freaking out as he saw the small ball of life writhing with a burning fever. He immediately carried him to bed, he discarded the wet clothes then made him wear warm fresh ones.
"W-Where are Y-You going?" Donghyuck slurred, sick and weak.
"To get Wendy, the physician. I'll be back soon." Said Mark.
And so Wendy did come, she gasped at the state the King was. His fever was too high, it even gave him sudden fists, resulting in the older blaming himself for going too far but then again this is how he had lived for 22 years of his life. Donghyuck was suffering so much the older just stood their with glossy eyes.
"He'll be fine if you keep damping his forehead and body with water to lesson the fever. If he doesn't get better call for me again. Here make him drink these tonics. I'll see you Mark." Wendy bowed as she left the house since it was raining too heavily.
The older sure did stay by the King, dabbing his forehead and chest until his fever would subside. A tear down rolled down Marks cheek, why did it hurt so much to see this boy suffer when he was nothing but a jerk. Minutes turned to hours as the gorgeous golden skinned boy finally fell asleep with all the whimpering he'd done hours ago.
"Get Well Soon Baby." Mark whispered softly, caressing those chubby cheeks with the back of his arm. Donghyucks big bear orbs opened slowly, the older looked away before the younger would see his tears.
"My-My body hurts.......It's cold." The King mumbled, his eyes quivering.
"You'll be fine. I promise." Mark whispered.
For days the older sat beside his wife, aiding the sick Pudu, he skipped his own meals for the younger. The former King and Queens visited their son, Renjun would come by every evening with soup. Though it was hard to feed the beauty, Taeyong managed to make the drowsy King to drink a few sips. From changing the linen to everything he took care of his wife. Until one morning he woke up to an empty bed and he rushed downstairs only to see Donghyuck weakly sitting at the table and Taeyong feeding him.
"You cured him Mark. Wendy says he's much better and would be great in a few more days." Taeyong smiled sweetly at her son. Mark abruptly kissed Donghyucks forehead and hugged him tightly.
"Thank God you are well." Mark mumbled against the still warm neck. He let go of Donghyuck with a sigh of relief. The younger didn't miss the line of tears that welled up on the olders eyes.
"Don't worry son. He's perfectly alright now." Taeyong ruffled the olders dark midnight hair as he began to feed Donghyuck again.
The King did recover quickly, far better than they thought he would. He was still a bitch but there were signs of change slowly setting in. Especially his profound jealousy being to obvious when Jaemin got too close to Mark. He despised the bunny like boy when ever he'd kiss the older, but they weren't on that level. The kiss and hug that Mark gave him did wonders to his heart, as if the cold had slowly begun to melt.
"Go away from him!" Donghyuck shoved Jaemin away from Mark when the older wasn't paying attention.
"Hey be nice! He's my brother and he loves me unlike you!" Jaemin glared at the king. "Ungrateful brat!" He hissed.
"How dare you?!" Donghyuck growled slapping Jaemin. The younger stumbled down on the floor. "He keeps slapping me because of you people! Dirty servant!" He tried to kick the beauty when Mark slapped him.
"Why do you slap everyone?! What's fucking wrong with you?! Look here, I hate slapping you. I hate seeing you on pain so stop it!" Mark helped Jaemin up onto his feet as he wrapped an arm around his brothers waist.
"He's too clingy with you?! He should know his place!" Donghyucks lips trembled and he didn't know why.
"If you raise your hand once again I'll break it. Or I'll divorce you, leaving you to be the bitch that everyone hates!" Mark hissed at the gorgeous beauty. Why did that even hurt?
