you gazed at the smoothed paper, most of it unintelligible by now. you sighed, massaging the bridge of your nose. you were grading papers, but the lengthened sight of repeated words was making you experience gestaltzerfall. everyday letters didn't feel right, and the most kindergarten of things seemed ever so difficult now.

you felt incompetent as you swivel your chair, looking over to your girlfriend. she seemed quite focused, her eyes shifting from a word to another, her staff at her right. you intently looked at her, forgetting about the work that needed to be done. how could anyone blame you? latte was so distracting, hypnotic even.

the curls of hair that swiftly grazed over the worksheets, the eyes which absorbed the characters of text. the firm press of her lips that gave her concentration to the life of a teacher. she was beautiful. she caused the butterflies in your stomach to swirl. this feeling never changed over time, and it never will.

resting your head into your palm, you just silently watched her, the reading glasses on your face falling ever so slightly. however, that blissful moment was interrupted, as latte sensed your watch, turning to you, and asked

"ah! sorry hun, i was a tad absorbed into the work that i didn't notice you. do you need anything?"

she chuckled slightly, sinking into the leather bound seat.

"no it's fine, i should be the one apologizing to you. you're too pretty though, that's all i'll say."

you said, watching as her cheeks flushed into a light salmon color. she thanked you a bit timidly, but her mood that brightened by quite a lot shielded that, as newfound energy seemed to arise from the support.

happy to see her in a joyful mood, you stood up from your seat, and went to give her a hug. taken back a bit, she managed to recuperate and enveloped you in her arms.
the smell of sweet coffee lingered onto her and you and her savored the moment.

it was much needed, and you never wanted to let go. you felt warm, not the sickening heat that made you nauseous overall, but it was the warm, soft one that gave you images of teddy bears, beige blankets and gingerbread cookies by the window that let just the right amount of light.

the workplace was silent, with only the sound of the candles on the chandelier crackling above, it's blue flames giving an aurora impression. latte cookie started to hum slightly, holding your hand in her's. you never had felt anymore happy. it felt as if butterflies were not floating in your stomach, but dancing on your face, emanating warmth and light onto it, like mini suns highlighting the sky.

you never realized that only a few minutes passed by, before latte spoke softly,

"hun, i love you, but we have work that must be finished, y'know?"
adding a little giggle to the end of her sentence. you groaned, sitting up with disappointment, but your girlfriend had a point, the papers weren't grading themselves.

so, with the energy that was fulfilled to you once again, you put on your reading glasses and set on work. the motivation in reach once again, and latte would always be there to support it, no matter where, when, or why. what ever did you do to deserve someone like her?
