Lets go-
Sabre was confused. Befuddled. Wrong-footed, even. Why was nothing attacking? Not even showing themselves? Heck, when the patrols spotted the darkness it looked downright scared!
POV: Sabre
Deep in contemplation, I receive a shock when I glance at the time. 1) It's 1:00 pm. 2) There is a literal Time Steve in my kitchen. Focusing on the first thing, I scramble past Time with a muttered "Sorry gotta go bye!" and out the door. The monthly leader's meeting is starting in 30 minutes.
Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but I forgot a very important detail. Light Steve said he wanted to meet with me and his 'talks' normally take forever- back to the problem. I run out the front door and sprint through the crowded streets of the kingdom. Well, its more of a shuffle. 'Dang it, its too crowded to get through. I've got 5 minutes to get there if I don't want to be late, so let's take a shortcut' I think, and I make my way back towards my house.
I pass Time again, dash up to my bedroom, open the window, and climb onto the roof. I plan my next steps carefully, masterfully navigating my roof and jumping onto the neighbor's roof. I continue this pattern, jumping across the rooftops until I reach the training grounds where Light is waiting for me.
"There you are! I was beginning to think you were gonna be late."
"Yea sorry ab-"
"Now, I need your help." Light presses on, ignoring my half-hearted apology. "The colorless guards are spread out all over the kingdom, as you must know. We did the rotations around 20 minutes ago, and a couple didn't come back to report. Could you find them, and bring them back to me? We need everyone on guard in case the darkness attacks again."
Ughhhhhh I didn't know he called me here for chores!! Smiling to myself, I reply with a "Sure!" and run off. All orange steves are all the same, I guess. Always chores.
Light told me that the missing guards were last seen by the front left of the wall, so I head there first. They most likely just got distracted or fell asleep in the wall. It's a boring job, it makes sense.
I sweep through the passages in the walls, earning a few 'hellos' and smiles from any steves I pass. A dead end appears and I climb the nearest ladder to the top, finally finding what I'm looking for.
"Hey! Guys, over here!" I yell, running over to the tired-looking three. Ignoring their mumbles of 'sorry' and 'wont happen again', I guide them back to the citadel. Once there, I shove them onto a bewildered looking Light.
Free of Light's chores, I enter the citadel and pass the guards, running up the stairs. Entering the meeting room, I receive disapproving glares from the leaders, M and Yellow in particular.
"Let the meeting begin."
~Time Skip brought to you by a confused Time Bean~
Quick A/N here I'm watching Grian's MCC All Stars now since I missed it live. My brother is watching miraculous downstairs. It's so loud and extremely hard to type on an iPad help-
Sorry for that, let's continue with the story :)
"So? What do you think, Sabre?"
Snapped from my thoughts, I desperately try to remember what they were discussing.
"I... what?"
I trail, completely confused.
"I was asking you about the new developments in the citadel, but obviously you were worrying about other things. Perhaps, share your thoughts aloud? Since its 'so~ important'"
Mocks the Yellow Leader. What am I supposed to say? 'Not to worry, only plotting to sneak out and find some villains!'? They would lock me in a bedrock box!
"I-I um... I was j-just worrying about Time Steve! Yeah.. he swung by earlier and he looked nervous- ':)"
I stammer, inwardly cursing myself for stuttering. One thing about me, I never stutter. Ever. Not unless I lie, which I just did.
I should go.
...
There's a window over there.
