Me and Tobias just sat there, hands still clutched, eyes transfixed on the screen even though it was blank. Although shouting echoed around us we just sat there.
"What do we do, Tobias?" I asked, I had no idea of what was going to happen next. The video was still processing in my mind. "Do we stay or do we escape out into the world, we have no barriers now, no faction, no Jeanine, we're lost!"
"I don't know either, but I do know that now we need to calm everyone down and then go talk in private, ok Tris?" How could he be so calm, with everything going on around us, it felt like just me and him, together, forever.
Tobias and Tori both stood up and walked to the front, with an air of power and authority, they didn't even have to speak for everyone to fall silent and return to their seats.
Tobias starts, "As human beings we have the rights to make our own choices, therefore we are not going to force you all to do the same thing, you can decide that for yourself. However we are going to give you two choices, you may stay here or you can leave this imprisonment and escape into the real world, it is entirely your choice, we will meet again in 2 hours when you have had time think over you decision!"
Tobias steps down from the raised platform and starts walking towards me, I get up and do the same.
"Tris, should we go somewhere private, to talk this over?"
"Yes!" I reply and slowly follow him out of the room, tripping over helpless, pale and soulless bodies, tears begin to well up in my eyes, just as we emerge from erudite.
"Well catch the train then talk, ok!" Tobias says, "just hold on till we get there, till were alone!"
"Ok." I whisper, trying not to break down infront of all the people walking around.
We jump onto the train, just along the path from Erudite and tuck our selves just inside the entrance.
I collapse to the ground, sobbing so I hard I can't control myself, Tobias falls down next to me, tucking his arm round me and pulling me close.
"It'll be ok, Tris." He says it in such a calming way I almost believe him, almost. "And whatever may happen next, I'll always be with you, every step of the way. "
"But its not!" I say, in between sobbs, "Were homeless, people are going to leave people are going to stay, our society will be torn apart, and Caleb." I start to sob even more, my entire body shaking.
"He made his choice, and I'm sorry he made that one." So am I.
"Tobias, I need him, I miss him. I miss mum, I miss dad, my world is broken!"
I scramble for a gun thats about 1 meter away from me and put it against my head,
"I'm sorry Tobias, for everything!" and I pull the trigger.
