Irene's POV
6hrs!! The damn flight was 6hrs and 18mins. I hate flying on airplanes. I've always had that damn fear that it's going to collapse and that I'm going to die. I was a little hesitant on getting on, but I had already bought the ticket so I couldn't back down. I didn't think about my fear while buying the ticket because all I was worried about was getting the hell away from home, but boy did I have a hard time getting on that metal machine.
Me fearing that the airplane was going to collapse at any minute, didn't make the flight any easier and that set my mood on fire. As if I hadn't had enough catching my fiance cheating on me with my sister, I had to get on a death trap to leave MY HOME!! Today was so not my day. I swear I just wanted this day to be over.
I was too deep in thought to notice the man talking to me until he gently tapped my sholder. "Ma'am are you ok?" he asked.
"Hu? What?" I asked still very confused.
"I asked if you were ok. You've been standing in the middle of the airport with out moving. Not to mention that your crying." he said looking at me with a face full of pity.
I wiped away the tears that I didn't notice had come rolling down my cheek.. "Yes. Sorry, I'm fine just a little tired thats all. If you wouldn't mind me asking. This is the first time I fly away, where can I pick up my luggage?" I asked.
"No problem. You have to go to the baggage claim. Once you're there you ask for your luggage and they will hand it to you, but you have to wait at least 30min after the flight to pick up your belongings." the man said with a smile.
I thanked the man and walked away looking for the baggage claim area. God I hated airports. I must have been so distracted that I didn't catch the scents of other werewolfs near until a very hansome guy came up to me with a not so happy face. God could this day get any worse.
"If I'm not mistaken you're not from here are you?" he asked.
"No. I'm not." I replied.
He looked at me from head to toe and then asked what I feared to answer. "Why are you here? Don't you know your trespassing? Now I want the truth and nothing but the truth."
I doubted about telling him the truth or to just lie to him but I knew that wouldn't help my case. I should have known better than to just arrive here with out contacting the nearby pack's alpha. Werewolfs are very territorial specially an alpha. They don't like it when another werewolf trespasses into their land, it somehow shows disrespect. And this wolf just threw off an aura of power. If I wasn't mistaken he was a beta but not a alpha. Thank the spirits because I wasn't ready to deal with another alpha just yet.
I bowed my head in respect. "I come from New York. My pack was the Shadow's Pack. And I do know I'm trespassing and I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to but I didn't have time to contact the Pack's Alpha before I left. I won't be here for long, I'm heading to Mill Valley." I told him with complete honesty.
He looked at me as if I had two heads and that confused me but before I had a chance to ask why he was looking at me like that he spoke again. "I'm Jared Taylor, beta to The Midnight Moon Pack." he said stretching his hand out for me to shake.
I knew it, he had to be a beta. Beta to wait what? "What? The Midnight Moon Pack?" I managed to choke out. My mouth was hanging open from the shock. Fuck!! How could I have not remembered that the Midnight Moon pack controlled All of California, Nevada, and Oregon. Man this pack was huge. In fact it was the biggest and most powerful pack in the werewolf world. Everyone knew of this pack, so why did I forget?
