    With money on the line no one was safe, the sheer terror amongst players became more and more predominant as the games became more and more challenging with less players to contribute.
With 20 players left the money was so close you could taste it - you where determined to win that prize .
Everyone lines up once again - feeling the nerves kick in as your eyes and ears where focused on what was to come, scrunching your feet inside of your shoes avoiding any eye contact with anybody, feeling the cold sweat drip down your forehead - It was "one man for themselves" as they say .

Sae-Byok quickly rushes over behind you as players begin lining up
"What do you think it'll be?"
She whispers standing on her tip toes making your neck hairs rise up, her warm breath grazing your neck as the words leave her mouth.
"I.. I don't know"
You stumble across your words, her presence was intimidating yet ever so reassuring - as the microphone booms as guards pile up in-front of the door.
"For today's game you'll need a partner"
The voice booms across the room as the players scatter attempting to find a partner as Sae taps your shoulder lightly.
"Me and you, no questions asked"
She smiles holding your hand keeping you calm
As the guard shakes his head as she quickly pulls her hand away from yours, her hand was soft, her touch was ever so delicate and gave you a sense of comfort - if only this could last forever

The microphone booms once more as others huddle into their groups , you couldn't be happier with your partner - as others glare in your direction scoffing at your partner choice

"Two girls? Pshh they'll never make it"
One man scoffs as Sae gently pushes you aside
"Is there something you need to say?"
She crosses her arms rolling up her sleeves clenching her fists as she slowly walks towards the man - quickly grabbing his shirt collar as the others gasp
"I'll sweep you up  like dust any-day , you'll be dead before you know it .. now run along.. your friends are waiting"
She smirks pushing the man back as he wipes his jumpsuit - scoffing at Sae as she prances back to you.
"Ignore those fools, they're practically dead anyways"
She whispers as the buzzer rings across the stadium
"The time for choosing your partners has come to a close"
As you look around everyone seems to have a partner - as the nerves come tricking in , wondering what this could be.
As a line of people walk through the narrow staircases - with twists and turns

As Sae taps your shoulder once more causing you to flinch
She keeps her expression the same avoiding any attention from the others
"Listen, whatever it is I promise we'll get out alive"
She hesitates as the line moves quicker moving through the staircases finally entering the arena.
As others look around in confusion
As a guard quickly hands you a bag , you shake it
"Marbles?"
You scratch your head as Sae takes the bag from you shaking it to her ear
"Marbles."
She nods as the microphone booms, the guards stand straight keeping a close eye on the both of you - as she tucks her hand into her jacket grabbing your hand and holding it tight.
"You'll start with eight marbles.."
The rules are being read as Sae grips your hand tighter fighting back tears.
"Is everything okay?"
You whisper as she sniffles keeping her face straight
"I.. I don't think..."
She hesitates as a guard grabs your hand moving it away from her
"No touching"
The guard says as she rolls her eyes , others whisper as they disperse into corners of the arena.

"Why where you crying back there?"
You juggle the marbles in your palms
"Did you not hear?"
She grabs your arms slamming you to the wall
"Sae? Is everything.."
You pause as she brushes the hair from her face - her voice becomes raspy as she holds back any more emotion
"Only one of us make it out of here"
She stammers
"Did you not listen to the rules y/n"
She scoffs unleashing her hands from your arms holding her head in frustration
"We'll come up with something , no ones dying today"
You attempt to reassure her as her eyes become weary.

The others throw their marbles in different forms as Sae observes
"I've got an idea"
She holds her finger out before opening the bag of marbles
"How about we see .. how about we see who can throw it the furthest"
She forces a weary smile as you nod
"Simple enough"
You shrug as she grabs a marble from the bag eyeing out her shot throwing it as it goes far
"Good.. good throw.."
You look down to your feet knowing this game wouldn't end how you wanted it to.
"Your turn."
Sae sniffles as your hands tremble grabbing a marble and throwing it as it lands behind hers
"Shit .. shit y/n I cant do this"
She whimpers as you hold back tears

She takes one last good look at you, admiring your features
"Have I ever told you that you're the only one who's really understood me?"
She hesitates
"You're the only one who's stuck by my side, and told me I could do it"
She sniffles as you wrap your hands around her
She flinches not expecting the hug
"I'll see you Sae, you've made this horrible experience in here really worth while and I'll always remember you for that, for reassuring me, for keeping me warm at night, and for just being a..."
You pause feeling your hands clench up
"I know the both of us won't make it out of here, but you deserve to get out of here more than me"
You look down at your shoes as she becomes shocked
"Wheres this coming from y/n? We both deserve to—"
Before she can say anything the guard holds the gun to the both of you - as it clicks
"I didn't get to finish... please.."
She cries out as you shut your eyes afraid from what's to come next..

As the microphone cuts in
"There has been a breach of the rules.."
The room falls silent as the  microphone says - as the guard slowly puts down his gun
"This concludes today's game.. player 12,15,19,45.."
It reads out the numbers
"*your #, and 067 ..passed, please make your way back to the dorms"
Everyone stands in shock as Sae turns around to you in shock
"We .. we did it"
She gasps leaping into your arms, it felt as though time had stopped in that very moment.
"I told you we'd make it"
You whisper as she snuggles into your chest.
