"Alright everyone get up! It's packing day!"
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••
That's what Matt awoke to. He groggily sat up and looked over to see Scar doing the same. With a groan the two stood up and looked around at their belongings, or lack of.
"So um, what are we supposed to do on clean up day?" Matt asked. Scar stopped picking up his stuff and stared at Matt. "You're kidding me right?" He questioned before turning back to his stuff. "Wait a second. Are you wearing my clothes?" He stopped again. "Pshh.. No.." Matt replied before quickly walking out of the tent.
Everybody was rushing through whatever packing process they were assigned to. Liz was running between everyone asking in her high pitched voice if their was anything she could do. Jumbo was lifting everything into the trucks. Scar was taking the down the tents. Matt started scanning through the crowd, trying to see if he could help with anything, since he didn't have a specific assignment.
He looked over at the corner of all the chaos, and saw Cecilia. She was trying to lift a few suitcases, trying being the main word. Matt looked around once more before running over to her. "Hey Cecilia, need some help?" He questioned. She jumped up, wide-eyed. "No, I got it" She stuttered, attempting to lift another case. With a chuckle, Matt grabbed one of the suitcases, and although it was surprisingly heavy, he managed to carry it. Cecilia rolled her eyes before grabbing the smallest suitcase there and following Matt.
"You didn't have to do that." Cig said. "I could have done it myself." Matt glanced back at her, eyebrows raised. "Could you? Could you really?" He said in a bumptious manner. Her face turned red and she looked down as they approached the truck.
"That's the last of the luggage. Everyone get in the bus, it's time to go!" Jethrow yelled. Everyone practically ran to the trucks. "Matt! CiCi! Wait for me!" Liz yelled from across the lot. She started fighting her way through the crowd, before jumping in between them and placing her arms around both of them. "You two get to sit by me!" She said excitedly as she pulled the two to the front of the caravan. She opened the truck and climbed in, reaching her hand down to help Cecilia and Matt.
"What about the bus? Shouldn't we ride in there with everyone else?" Matt questioned, pointing to the big bus at the back of the caravan. "No silly! We ride with Jethrow!" Liz replied. Matt shook his head, but was about to climb in the truck before Scar came up and grabbed him. "Hey man, I think it's better if you ride in the bus with me." He said before pulling him away from the girls.
"Thanks Scar." Matt said. "Anytime." Scar replied. "I kinda just wanted to talk to you about Cig. I really don't think you should pursue her." Matt stopped. "Me? Pursue her? She doesn't like me anyways." Scar scratched his head as he climbed onto the bus with Matt in tow.
Everybody was cramped into the limited seating area. Some people were on the floor, others crammed three or four people in the seats made for two, and there were two empty seats in the very back reserved for Scar and Matt. The two maneuvered their way to the back seat.
"So off the topic of me, is there any lady in your life?" Matt questioned. Scar's hands instantly gripped the armrests, his face got hot, and his nostrils flared. "We will not talk about this anymore, and if you ask this question again, I may just have to slit your throat." He growled. Matt held his breath. "Okay. Scar, I won't, I'm sorry. So can you tell me anything about your life before here?" Matt asked shyly. "Sure. I came straight out of high school, so I've only been here a year. I lived on my own and took care of my younger sister my sophomore year until my senior year." Scar explained. "What happened to your parents?" Matt asked sympathetically. Scar sighed before replying. "They just didn't want us I guess. They just up and left." Matt put his hand on Scar's back. "I'm sorry man." Scar grabbed Matt's hand and pushed it away. "Don't touch me." He mumbled. "It really sounds like you don't want to talk about your old life but mind if I ask just one more question?" Matt asked. With a nod, Matt asked his question. "Why did you come to the circus?". Scar ran his hands through his hair, leaning his head against the back of the seat. "I didn't want to harm my sister. I found my talent out because one night somebody broke in and tried to kidnap my sister and I. They pulled out a gun, I grabbed the first thing I found, a knife. And everything happened so quickly. I accidentally cut her arm, it left a mark, and I'm pretty sure it's still there. I was afraid of hurting her more. I had to leave. Jethrow and the circus came to town one day, I took Hera and a friend of hers to the it, and I stayed. I just felt like I fit in. So here I am." Matt reached up to touch Scar's shoulder again, but quickly jerked back, remembering his order. "Thanks for talking to me Scar. It's just this has been pretty hard on me so far, and the only people that will talk to me are you and the twins. I'm just feeling like an outcast". Scar nodded, "I know how you feel" he replied.
Soon, Jethrow gave to sign and all the cars began to leave the lot. Matt, staring out the window as they pulled away.

"Terror. They've left for their next destination. The last truck just left the lot." The small, demon-like creature croaked. Terror nodded, eyes scanning the area.. "Fan out. Search for anything out of that will lead us to where they're going next."
The minions flooded the area. They began digging and checking for anything that would help their master as he watched over them, as a slave owner would watch over his slaves.
"Master, master! I found something!" One of the creatures yelled as it crawled over to Terror. He held out his hand and snatched it from the minion. It was a wristwatch. Terror brought it towards his nose and took a deep breath. "Human. They have a human." He snarled. "What a fun chase we have ahead of us." He added. He slipped the watch into his pocket and laid his hand on top of the creatures head. "Round up the others. I have what I need." He commanded as he headed towards his truck, opening the back so his little demons could crawl inside.
The chase, had begun.
