Chapter 3: The meeting

Narutos POV

' I can't believe my mother thought I wasn't good enough to be Heir to the throne. MY FATHER AGREED AS WELL!' I walked downstairs for breakfast and sat down next to Menma 

"Hey, no useless powers are allowed at the table!" Said that annoying excuse of a brother 

Kushina: "He is right. Naruto, go sit somewhere else."

Menma : "HAHA"

Minato : " That's enough you two. Naruto, I am canceling the training for you since Menma needs it more."

Naruto:" Yes, your majesty "

I walked off. I was going to show them what the lost. They are not going to give the throne to that kid without a consequent. I was walking a our large garden that is great for cloud watching. I was looking up at the sky and then I tripped off someone.

??:"Ouch!"

I looked at the boy. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He looked to be around my age. He looked like he never had sleep a day in his life. The big question was: what was he doing here?

Naruto: " sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention. I am Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze!"

???:" what a drag. Well it's fine I guess. I am Shikamaru Nara, from the Nara kingdom."

Naruto:" well, no duh, you're from the Nara kingdom. Like I thought you were from the Hyuga kingdom"

Shikamaru:" Troublesome red head. There are people who questioned where I am from"

Naruto:" Well, that's a dumb question since it's in your name Shikamaru Nara not Shikanaru Uchiha or something like that." I laughed at someone asking that

Shikamaru: " Whatever troublesome red head. Now can you get off me?"

Naruto:" Oh! Right, sorry! 

I got off him. I was extremely embarrassed that happened! Like we had a good 2 minute talk while I was on him.

Shikamaru POV

'Ugh. Troublesome parents want me to come with them to go meet the Uzumaki-Namikaze family.' When we got there, I slipped away from my parent and walked around the castle which was huge! I ended up in their garden. I found a comfortable spot to watch clouds at. About 5 minutes later, i heard footsteps. I didn't think much of it until someone tripped over my stomach.

'Ouch!' I manage to get out. I look up to see a red headed  boy about my age. He had blood red hair. Ocean blue eyes that you could drown in. Whiskers that looked like pencil marks

"Sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention. I am Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze!" He said. His voice was soft and sweet. 'Pull it together! You just met this troublesome red head!'

"What a drag. I am Shikamaru Nara, from the Nara kingdom." 'OF COURSE YOU'RE  FROM THE NARA KINGDOM! It's in your name!' I felt like an idiot in that moment but didn't show it.

" Well, no duh, you're from the Nara kingdom. It's in your name." 'Quickly think of something!'

" Troublesome red head. There are people who questioned where I am from" ' because, yeah that makes sense, right?'

"Well, that's a dumb question since it's in your name Shikamaru Nara not Shikamaru Uchiha or something like that." He laughed. His laugh sounded like music

"Whatever troublesome red head. Now can you get off me?"

"Oh! Right, sorry!"

He got off me and we were just staring at the sky. Weirdly, it's not awkward. You would think we'd been friends for years and not we just met 10 minutes ago. We stay there in silence, just cloud watching. 

" Hey troublesome red head."

" Yeah, Nara?"

" Wanna hang out the next time my parents are here?"

" Sure, you lazy Nara " 

"Most Naras are lazy"

"Mostly?"

" My mother is a hyper mess"

"Oh ok! Bye Shika!" I blushed at the nickname 

I wanted back through the garden and bumped into my parents who were ready to leave. I was thinking about the troublesome red head the whole way back. His smile. His personality. His bubbly energy. Every I knew about him was going haywire. My parents noticed a little smile in my face abut didn't say anything.  I can't wait to see him again.
